247 list. don't know this list. But even on this list, the DT's are bigger than anyone we have. For third time, my point is, yes we CURRENTLY have smaller guys on the roster. But we are recruiting many DL that are bigger than anyone we currently have. which in my OPINION, indicates that the current staff wants bigger as in heavier DL's. Nothing more, nothing less. This is like Sonny Corleone talking to Michael, "he's taking this very personal". I will proactively add this, by saying you are my superior in every aspect of football knowledge and i submit to your far superior football intellect and i will never comment on any post of yours again. We have offered a lot of bigger DT’s in the past but those guys went to more attractive schools. They want faster and more explosive lineman. It will be PERFECT If they can get them at 300 lbs but that will be hard to come by. So they will take the route of getting leaner frames and adding weight to them. I know that for a FACT. It’s NOT my opinion. Have a blessed day.

Since we brought up the San Diego Defense I looked up their DL sizes for 2021. You can see they were ranked 3rd and 12th respectively. For reference, their starting 3 were 265 lbs, 305 lbs, and 275 lbs.

4 months is a lifetime in the weight room to transform one's self as you and many know. Most are too quick to make judgements on here though, myself included at times.

Things trending positive though on all fronts for Cuse football, it's understandable we don't know how to act at this point though I guess.

Remember how Syracuse basketball had some of the very best big men in the entire country for about 30 years? And have you noticed that for almost the last 10 years, we have guys like the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz in the middle of the zone, and guess what? It hasn't gone nearly as well as it used to.

So, forgive me, but you agree that we don't currently have the D linemen we need, that we have some terrific prospects, but they have to grow up fast, and honestly, we need reinforcements or we could be in trouble.

Yes, this defense wants mobile guys, but everybody's pointing out how all those teams had a 300 lb anchor, and guys in the 240 - 250 range on the weak side, if you have a somewhat bigger (260-270) guy on the strong side. Then this defense rocks.

Only those who say we are fine as we are, are the people who have me banging my head against the wall. For those who say "Bowl or Bust", well, we don't have all the players we need yet. That's all. Dose of reality for those with harsh, perhaps unrealistic expectations.

I want Jordan Davis, Aaron Donald and TJ Watt on our D Line and prime DC, John, Etan or Arinze in the middle of our zone again as well.

Don't think anyone disagrees with you, just know that the roster today size wise and name wise won't be identical to preseason when rubber really hits the road. We're not the finished product yet nor resigned to any one fate

We have been talking about the DL since the season ended and I havent seen one poster say we are fine where we are. Almost every person has said we can use a transfer or two.

I would be very happy. Inside guy with 3 sacks each of the last 2 years. Brings da beef at 315. Good rotation guy. Maybe NC State wouldn't run for 300 against us with this guy taking turns inside. One thumbs up from me!

True. But our 26th ranked D was with guys who i considered more prototypical size. Now Is that going to improve with lighter guys by design? I guess we'll see. But to be fair our crew will be much young this year as well and we have a harder schedule so rankings won't tell the whole story. And is it a concern that San Diego State mainly played against lesser coemption than we do and probably smaller dudes than our ACC foes?

Also they had some size. Its baloney that the staff only wants 260 pound kids.
Look at our offers. If we can land bigger kids we will.

We are talking the following: our BIGGEST GUYS are 240 to 260.

They will be outweighed by 100 pounds.

I wouldn't mind having at lease one big, big guy if we're going to play only 1 DT in case we're getting absolutely steam rolled by a big line. Just to clog the lanes.

We don't even have the 280 pound guys that you're talking about. I could live with 280 - 300 for the DT spot, and 240 to 260 for the DEs.

We are currently about 20 pounds light of both of those targets. We have LBs that are bigger than DEs in our two deep. That isn't optimal.

People wanted a new scheme that gives us chance to win but then question the scheme. lol Some people just want to complain or start false narratives to demonstrate their frustration with the program.

I have full trust in what Tony White is doing

Him and Nick Monroe have brought in some solid recruits and are building a great foundation.

Defense is the one side of the ball I have no worries about and am excited for.

Of course would love to bring in a transfer or two, but if the staff thinks it’s good with what it’s got, I’ll trust them on this one. No doubt

At Monroe CC in the Bronx (not Monroe County CC). Doesn't look like he played in 2021 - assuming he redshirted to save a year of eligibility.
