Notre Dame Gameday...

A lawsuits will be coming from basketball and football players for sure. Has the NCAA won a case?

That's the thing, they have essentially lost everyone so I assume they will likely lose this one as well. That's why it's a bit odd they aren't looking to start this with the new incoming Frosh to try and have a better argument in Court. Trying to not include the current graduates seems destined to fail. The question becomes how many will want to take advantage and return and what that does to roster sizes NIL etc.

I personally am not a fan of the 5 for 5, 4 years is plenty but if they are going to do it and it seems like they are, it's gonna have a major impact on Lax and will almost assuredly end up including the 26 guys.

The NCAA isn't going to vote on this until June or even July.

Can't have players who have exhausted their eligibility being kept in limbo not knowing if they can come back to school for a year. Can't have coaches unable to complete a roster.

If/when this passes, it will take effect next season for students who have eligibility remaining for 2026-27. It's a good a place as any to draw the line.

Joey Spallina ain't walking through that door for a 5th year.

the only senior from this year this will end up effecting is Chuck, and he will probably end up losing a year.

It is a good place to draw the line but it's never gonna hold up in court that's the point. A fball or ball player(s) are going to sue and this will either be overturned or an injunction granted. The question becomes how many will actually want to take advantage but with Lax the timing actually works out perfect because they technically don't' have to be enrolled until the spring semester.

Chuck redshirted in 2023, and in 2024 while he was recovering.

He will still have eligibility for 2027.

He was going to file for a waiver to see if he could get 2028 also, but who knows what happens to waiver claims under the new rules.

thats what I meant, if 5 to play 5 passes he will have a harder time getting 2028

yeah, and the 33 minutes was 30 minutes in the first half and 3 minutes in the middle of the 2nd half. They just didn't come out of halftime with their heads in the game. Were they sitting on their laurels because they had a 1 goal lead at the half? ND came out of halftime pissed they were trailing and showed it. We just weren't up to the test.

I feel like they want teams to fear them bc of their club rankings from 5 years ago. They play like they don't have something to prove. if things don't go their way they crumble. Hopefully, Joey can wake. This. Team. Up!!!
