Notre Dame Post Game

He isn't a creator. He is a big that can score around the rim and rebound. Not everyone needs to be a creator we need finishers and he can finish.

Before this game, out of the normal starters, Donnie had the highest PER. JC was last and it was like 4.7. An average player is supposed to be at 15.

Donnie is fine. The worst thing that happened was people thinking he was going to be all world. That was never going to be the case.

They just stop posting and blame the negativity.

Like it’s the fans fault
Red is a smart guy and easy to like. People talk to him, bought in, and defend him. It’s a normal reaction.

Sometimes being a bit removed helps one see things more clearly.

The talent evaluation is abysmal. The roster management is bad. The in game coaching is… I don’t even know.

I've always hated those "This team sucks, and I couldn't be bothered or bear to watch them" posts.
But it's finally happened...my love affair w/ Syracuse bball, by far the thing I loved most to watch and engage in my entire life, is now on life support.
I tried watching, I really did. But there's so much to unpack right now w/ this team, this staff, and this program. I honestly could care less about cbb, and this team in particular. And I never thought that would ever happen. At this point I'm just...resigned to it all. -sigh--
Same, sadly.

Tell me what coach is going to win with this group? All teams have to do is get Lampkin in a switch with a good shooter and we can’t stop it. This is maybe the poorest offensive team I’ve ever seen at SU. I don‘t know how we can beat a a decent team. My biggest complaint is how ND can get their best shooter ten three point attempts and we can’t ever get our shooters good shots. It’s gone on forever.
The coach recruited them and put this team together. It's on him

Chris Bell not bothering to show up this season has killed this team. We know he’s not a great defender or rebounder, but I think most of us figured he would be our second leading scorer and could be a 40 percent 3-point shooter again and would have games where he would absolutely go off. I think it was reasonable to expect him to be our second leading scorer at 16-18ppg and be reliable as an offensive threat every night. He’s playing significantly worse than he did last season, imo, and his shooting numbers are awful. His confidence is sapped. We need to get him back on track.
I don't think this team can really wait for him to get his confidence back, he really shouldn't be starting at this point. Another awful showing today to go with the rest of the season, he's a liability out there. If this team wants to win this season I don't see if being with the current lineup we have right now.

Criticism is warranted when it’s warranted and today it’s really warranted. All of the coaching I saw last year is somehow completely gone and Red seems to have lost the feel for the structure of the flow of the game with subs and plays and just overall wherewithal. I’m not sure what’s going on to be completely honest in game. I thought last year he did such a good job with not a lot and some crazy behind the scenes situations. I’ve been to practices and I see the belief the kids have in him and then they get to the game and it’s like they have never practiced before. Not quite sure to be honest and I’m a big Red fan, but today and some other spots this year I don’t see the same coach as last year

I know you have some connection to Red, so I'm sure this was a rough post.

The only thing I'd call out, for all of the Cobra Kai guys we had last year, we had much more pure talent.

The issue isn’t mid major players. Great mid major players can play at this level. We got good mid major players. They turn into ok/bad players at this level
Even good players can still be contributors at this level imho, as in bench players. But if you are depending on them to play too big of a role, then you have what we're seeing.

Who was bidding up Eddie? Was it A&M? They dodged a bullet.

I love his effort, but I have no idea how he commanded the money and stuff he did when he hasn't been in shape from day one.

And, now he limps when he walks.

Again, this is a guy that TCU made lose 70 pounds before his soph year and had his best year (most efficient).

I mean, I don't get it.

You mean the kid that's going to be the #1 draft pick that gets to play with other elite players that will also be drafted? It's a lot easier to make those guys look better.

Jokic makes his teammates better as well, why stop at Cooper Flagg?

Donnie, while far from perfect, is the least of our problems. He had two super hard finishes today at key moments.
I don’t disagree, but he doesn’t need more touches except when he tries to guard someone.

I think they didn't want to have what happened with Jesse happen and be left high and dry without a center.

Lampkin or his agent or whatever realized we were vulnerable and reworked the deal.

Sorry man I know you have a personal connection with Red and think alot of him. Tough to watch a friend go through this.

Chris Bell is now 11 for 41 from 3 this season. 27%.

This is the guy that this staff was counting on being a much improved all around player. And it’s the guy who *should* be stepping up with Starling out.

Can’t think of a more disappointing and infuriating player we’ve had here in years.

It also compounds the horrible misevaluation of McCleod last year. That guy stunk from day one.

Yeah, he was my guy that I thought would make the leap. It's been so bad. I was so wrong.

So what did Bell do all off-season? His game has not evolved at all.
