UConn has elite men's and women's basketball and is a recent Big East football champion.
Rutgers has a nicknamed gym, a women's basketball team known in the media, and in their greatest football season they beat Louisville on a weeknight. Since Louisville is a rumored B12 candidate, Rutgers must be ahead of them in line.
Check this out, I just checked Gary Schianos wiki...
His overall BE conf record was 28-48
Since 2006 (RU Glory years), his BE record was 21-21
Is that the definition of mediocrity or what? RU fans are delusional.
Jesus. That's almost as bad as Greg Schiano's record in the Big East.
it was a joke, i know his name is greg
Small correction: Syracuse did get an invitation from the ACC. It was accepted. Then it was withdrawn. We're not screwed because conference realignment has not ended. It would be foolish to suggest otherwise. UConn went from 16k fans at football games in 2002 to 40k since the upgrade to FBS. There is no reason not to believe we can't continue to grow our fanbase. Our academic standing has grown over the past 20 years and continues to improve. Our basketball programs are among the best in the nation and we have a state-of-the-art basketball facility on the way. We have a large number of successful sports programs, and the 2010-2011 season ended with a football BCS bid, National Championship in basketball, Final Four in women's bball and a Super Regional top 16 finish in baseball. Our credentials are fine, we'll be in a good position soon enough. Our men's hockey team may be heading to HockeyEast in the next year or two (should find out this month). Cuse had to wait from 2003 to 2011 before getting the ACC invite it almost had the first time around. We'll continue to support our university and wait and see what happens.
The played in the first game 150 years ago.

UConn went from 16k fans at football games in 2002 to 40k and decreased to 36k in 2011 since the upgrade to FBS. There is no reason not to believe we can't continue to grow our fanbase playing SMU, Boise and SDSU all whom will easily supplant the 2000 Cuse fans attending games at the Rent. I heard TexanMark's awesome tailgate blog rated our tailgate environment the best in the Big East for visiting fans. Our academic standing has grown over the past 20 years and continues to improve. Our basketball programsarewere among the best (Men's) in the nation and we have a state-of-the-art practice basketball facility on the way yet we are still stuck playing games in a crappy outdated XL Center and can't even sellout our tiny on Campus gym for crappy non conference games. We have a large number of successful sports programs, and the 2010-2011 season ended withabacking into a football BCS bid and selling 100's of tickets to the game, National Championship in basketball, Final Four in women's bball and a Super Regional top 16 finish in baseball. Our credentials are fine, we'll be in a good position soon enough. Our men's hockey team may be heading to HockeyEast in the next year or two (should find out this month) and SUNY Oswego in Div 3 only outdraws us 6 to 1 in Hockey Game attendance. Cuse had to wait from 2003 to 2011 before getting the ACC invite it almost had the first time around. We'll continue to support our university and wait and see what happens.

and had to use soccer rules to win 6-4. That game garnered the highest ever reader ratings for the New Brunswick Daily Times at 1.6 readers and the fine publication promptly went out of business.
It is a shame things have gotten so screwed up in college athletics, especially in the East.
It must be frustrating watching a public school pass you by. At least you still have communications degrees. You're almost out of 'safety school for your safety school' territory.
