I have seen nothing, except the ability to recruit, that suggest Red can do this job the way we need it
done. Let's go about the business of firing him. My estimate, and I believe this is almost surely low, is
that Red would get at least a check for 3 1/2 million. How about Alex Kline? Did he come with just
a year deal? That would be doubtful to me. The ass'ts are almost always on 1 year deals but I don't
know that for sure. Did Dan come here without more than a 1 year deal? I don't have any idea.
Now, we have to hire a new coach. He is not going to take less than a 5 year deal. No way. No how.
We just fired an alum and a former ass't after just 2 years. To go to Syracuse, he is going to
require security. It will be very expensive and I don't know if we have the dough.

I am ok with giving new blood 5 years to rebuild this mess. Red got a short leash because he was here towards the ent when we were trending downward anyway. And he had no experience. I can’t imagine people truly expected he’d be night and day from JB. We’ve gotten worse - we all know what we are watching so no need to do a deep dive.

Like I said in the post game thread - give me a low major coach who’s built his program over the course of a few years and has a distinct play style. A program builder.

Red can’t even answer questions from the press in regards to he wants to do

I’m comfortable with the opinions I expressed in April once Maliq walked and Bell and JJ were anointed as the keys to the team in 2024-25.

There are a lot of people who posted I was overreacting and that Red and his team were going to be fine.

Ben McCollum from Drake is my new choice one but I also think you could do the easy one (Langel) and he will win anyplace he goes

No one has given an answer as to where we are going to get the money for this?
I’d talk to the head accountant in charge and let them know that they’re going to cook the sheep they’ve been fleecing for decades. It’s not my job to balance the books up there. It’s obvious that they’ve enjoyed padding their revenue with sports money. Big time universities have big time accounting schemes.

Hoops brings in 32 million. I don’t know how that money is being spent but it isn’t very efficient given the state of the program. The 2nd best revenue producing squad should not be crying poverty when it comes to coaching. If we can’t compete with powerhouse cash cows like….. [checks list] Marquette, then we have bigger problems than Red

Bingo. We have bigger problems than Red. And I don't see any reason to believe that he can coach.

Well that has certainly been discussed ..

I don’t want Red gone (at least not yet) - the team is so poorly constructed - we have no PG - we have no one who gets to the rim - we have no shooting - and most of all we have no rim protection whatsoever - we need a PG next year - we need JJ back and we need Freeman back - we just don’t have the players and I’m not sure that’s Rees fault

We’re a message board. We are venting frustration about how things are going.
Exactly. That is all we are doing. We have no real answers. I don't. Just a lot of complaining about what is.
If you are in a position of authority, it is a whole different game. We should have hired outside the program. But that was then. Here we are. I don't believe we can fire Red because I don't believe we have anywhere near the money to even fire him. Let alone hire someone good. I hope I am wrong.

No. We want to fire him. We have to live in the real world. Unless are we are doing is just blowing off steam with no sense of reality. If that is where we are at, let's get Cooper Flagg to come in the portal.
Are those 2 things equally as likely in your mind? I hope not lol

Well, whose fault would it be? He brought in Carlos. I never want to see pt guard play like this again. We spent the money on Eddie. Red can better. I'm not sure he thinks he needs to. That scares me.

To me it looks like the effort is there (with a few exceptions).
That's all I want at this point. If the players quit on him and
ride out the season, that's a bad look for Red and he should be
held accountable.

As far as his substitution issues, his rotations may not be
perfect, JB's 6 or 7 man teams drove me crazy.

The effort is there????? We repeatedly don’t get back on defense.

There is no question in my mind that there is something very wrong with the "books" at Syracuse. And that is the first thing that needs to be fixed. I think there is a good chance we will hear about this subject down the line.
