On a scale of 1 to 10...

he had the worst passing season. but i'm not sure how to compare him to nassib 2010

vs BCS

2010 nassib 111 rating
hunt 98 rating

hunt 439 yards rushing, 6 TD rushing
2010 nassib -89 yards "rushing", 1TD

both passer ratings stink to high heaven. does hunt's rushing performance offset his passing stinking more? it might

if given the choice ahead of time between a 111 with no rushing and a 98 with rushing, i'll go with the 98. at least hunt was good at something.

it's pretty silly to say it's not close

19 and 8 vs 10 and 8. Higher rating, which I thought you were all about.

17 TD for Hunt, 20 for Nassib. hunt got fewer games.

fwiw the offense was better than 2010's. (86th vs 97th)

when i harped on Nassib's rating, there was no point in talking about him as a runner because he never ran. i remember saying that maybe if he gave us something on the ground, it wouldn't be as big a deal.

if you're below a 125 rating, you better offer something in the ground game

Ya that was the most dissapointing aspect of last year, the FSU, Clemson, NW, and GaTech games were way to lopsided. Its one thing to get beat and get beat handily but we had our doors blown in on 3-4 occassions. Under Marrone even when we were totally outclassed we were never beat like that. Hoping to see a much better peformance against FSU, Clemson, and ND this year.

Nobody forgot. But FSU and Clemson shouldn't be in the discussion. They torched ALOT of people last year. FSU undefeated, NC, heisman. Clemson won a BCS bowl as well. GT the staff got fancy and got ran over. That leaves NW which I chalk up to inexperience...for everyone. Everything came together VERY nicely at the end of last year. That is what people remember, the offense was clicking, hunt was clicking, the staff found a groove and there is no reason to think we can't continue on that path this year. BTW, we were a 10 win team the year Miami won the NC, they blew our doors off too. Sometimes not even the Hulk, or Superman, or even Scott Shafer can stop a planet killing meteor. That's exactly what FSU and Miami were, they destroyed everything in their path.

Very good point. To me that is extremely concerning, and I don't put that on the talent. There is no way if Marrone's staff was coaching would we have got blasted like that on 4 occasions. This staff still has a lot to prove in terms of game planning.

Getting smoked by halftime of the FSU, Clemson, NW and GTech games were major red flags in my mind last year with regards to the staff's collective ability to game plan AND make in game adjustments. Maybe that's because Marrone and staff were so damn good at that stuff. We almost always were competitive. Just have not seen that yet from SS and staff.

On the other hand, dealing with all the factors of last year, first time HC SS and staff did well in my book to reach a bowl game. They need to continue with, and accelerate that learning curve and show the ability to game plan and manage games more effectively this year. I really like the direction of the recruiting. Now let's see the growth in the X & Os.

The great "pumping of the brakes" and "hedging my bets" posts of preseason. All valid points, IMO. I'm just sticking with relentless positivity.

Hunt will make the leap and we won't see a half vs any team not named FSU like we did in those blow outs.

I expect us to be top 25 by end of next year. So we better be at a 7 or 8 right now.
