Oronde Gadsden II ... the "OG"

we Have guys open everywhere. We have a 2 and a 3 guy we Garrett is staring down Gadsden. After 2nd game, he doesn’t look off. I have said it here 4 times or more. He is relying on him too much sometimes. I just want him to spread the ball a bit more so we ain’t Purdue. 15+87 were getting the ball. We all new it. I want us a bit more open I guess.

We still have 6 games to play I agree we need that 2nd WR. I'm sort of done with Jackson I'd rather just force it with Alford its not like he can't make a play here or there. Cooper can be the possession guy or just decoy we line up to take a defender away go with him instead of Jackson.

Hatcher and Pena are the real wild cards I'd really like to try and unleash those guys but I'm not sure if they are up to it and going against top secondarys.

It seems like every year but 2018 we have had 1 good WR and then nothing else. Even that year Custis was clear cut #1 but Reilly, Johnson, and Harris all had really good stats and we had 4 guys. I don't think its too late for a couple of these guys to improve.

We have to go out and beat good QBs on the road we don't get to win games anymore with our D and playing in the Dome. I think the staff knows Garrett has to sling it and outduel a really good QB outside of the Dome so we'll see more of the WRs in the gameplan.
Forcing it to Alford seems like a really bad idea.

I'm not done with Jackson-I just think he's a slot and not an edge WR. I also think Pena is more explosive than both him and Cooper, but they're also both solid.

A BC player at the top of the list???

Let them think he's a TE so they cover him with a slow LB.
Look, I've been very vocal that a lot of football coaches are concussed and make bad decisions, but only the exceptionally stupid ones would look at our game film and think "yeah we're going to cover him the way we would a finger-in-the-dirt TE."

Little speedy slot WRs sometimes get covered by LBs, anyway.

Yup. Gadsden is used like Travis Kelce. He’s basically a big slot.

I love KC's paly where the wideout zooms in and back out, taking the space cleared out by double-covering Kelce. They got two TDs and that holding call out of it and win the Super Bowl. But you've got to establish the tight end over the middle to do that. Gadsen was really a third wide-out, even if he lined up inside.

He is a big inside WR is what he is lol. Literally Travis Kelce is the exact NFL comparison. Very similar skill set. OG will be in the league one day for sure. Happy he’s ours.

the issue is kelce plays off contact where as OG has not shown that yet.. he wont get free releases in the NFL

Travis Kelce is 6'5, 250 pounds. I think they are currently very differently physically.

Im not saying he is Kelce now. I'm saying Gadsden's skill set is best used the way KC uses Kelce. He might have to take that approach if he wants to have a sustained NFL career.

he has shown decent hands and the ability to beat the Lbs/safeties 1x1 given time to run into the route. There are guys doing less playing in the NFL. He has a shot in the right offense for sure. he cant be in a run heavy offense where he needs to be blocking most of the time.
