Class of 2026 OT Javeion Cooper (FL) COMMITTED TO SYRACUSE (12/10/24)

Can't underestimate the ROI of having some 300 recruits in the Orangey confines of the Dome for the Miami upset.
Fran Brown: FIB - Football Investment Banker par excellence
Mr. Cooper committed in the postgame locker room for Chr*st's sake.
Note to SU's recruiting wranglers: Let's stay on him. Like Orange on yams.
The big ole squirrel balls on Fran Brown to put all those recruits in the dome to watch us go against a top ten opponent and then win the game. Sheesh

Expect a lot from the class of 26 and up from this staff as they will be getting to know the recruits more and more. This is a great start to that.

I watched Javeion play basketball recently. My observations (I am not a football coach):

1) he is all of 6’4” and 290
2) he moves very well both forward and laterally. Very smooth athlete imo
3) he has broad shoulders and a large butt. Easy to see that he has the frame to put on weight.
4) he is not fat at all. No stomach rolls.
5) he is not very developed in his arms or his legs. He is only a junior so there is time, but I suspect he will need a year or two in a college S&C program before he can contribute.
6) he appears to be well liked and got along well with his team as well as fellow students after the game

i am optimistic that he can be an excellent college player. There will certainly be a push from the Florida schools to keep him home, I hope we can hold on like we did with Samuel, also from this area.

I’ll see him play again I’m sure. If I find any new info I will add it here.

Thanks for the scouting report!

Can he play center for our BB team?

Not that I know anything…

But I’d be really surprised if he flipped after less than a month and to FSU who just had the worst season in a very long time when they haven’t yet had a chance to show improvement.

But hey what do I know. Kids are always changing their minds

This doesn't read like a ringing endorsement.

He gone.
It’s also an FSU article and slanted to them. It’s intended to drive clicks to them. They aren’t going to post an article with a quote from him saying “honestly, just going on the visit to campus for fun. Syracuse is my next home and I’m excited to spend the next 4 years there”

No idea what Cooper is thinking but it’s crazy to just give up because an article in another schools newspaper has Hope he might flip.
