OT: LOL @ Cowboys

What made the bryant catch even stranger was the green baye defender hit the ball tried to strip it and bryant clearly moves the ball in midair to his outside hand and cradling it, extends it towards the endzone, this wasn't like the typical basket catch bring it into your chest catch where you wonder if they really have possesion, not even close. That ball was cradled. I guess receivers have to break their fingers on the freezing ground.

Just don't make him angry...you won't like him when he's angry!!!!

All my jerkoff cowboy friends who bombarded me with that drivel last week. Funny how their tuned changed when it went negatively against them.

And i hope seattle murders them next week. I could care less about green bay. them too and aaron rodgers
Even if the cowboys score after the catch. They would most likely go for two which means they would either be up by one or three. In either case the Packers still have plenty of time to score either a field goal or a touchdown which is highly likely the way they were moving the ball. The call at the end of the first half and Murray's fumble when he had an open lane to the end zone is what cause the Boys to lose the game. I do think the rule needs to be looked at. By the way go Orange tonight.

Cowboy haters??? That's a joke!!! Tell me what Tony Romo has done for you. I guess it's not in the cards for you once again.

Tony Romo won me a Fastasy Super Bowl title this year. Every now and again a blind squirrel finds the end zone a few times. ;)

The ref made the right call...I think. But the rule is stupid. Perrera stated that Bryant had clear possession of the ball, but didn't complete the play. For my money, once you say the player has clear control of The ball, you must treat all players the same. For example a running back who has complete control of the ball and then hits the ground, it's not called a fumble. Same should be for the wide receiver. Shitty rule.

If he had lost the ball, say it popped out of his chicken wing grip, upon contact with the ground, and the Packer DB fell on it in the end zone, the ruling would have been "incomplete" due to the ground causing the 'fumble' (which really wasn't a fumble anyway...it was incomplete). The minute the ground jarred the ball loose of his grip, regardless if he bumbled it and held on, it should be incomplete. It hit the ground. It's a trap, right?

I'm not a fan of either team and I think it was a terrible call. He possed the ball and tried to reach out for the endzone. You can't do that unless you have control of the ball. Just a really bad call that ruined a very good game Bryant made a fantastic play and should have been rewarded for it and instead the ref took it away.

Read the rule. Ref didn't "take away" anything.

Which Dallas fans are you referring to. It seems to me that all the folks posting on this board are Cowboy haters. I am Dallas fan and if you read the other sports board is not what I am saying. Dallas pass rush was nonexistent. The third down pass with 40 seconds to go in the first half was a terrible call. They should have run the ball and gone for the first down. Missing the field goal and giving the ball back to Green Bay in reasonable field position leading to a field goal of their own was a huge momentum shift. Let see how well Rodgers does when he actually has to face a real pass rush from Seattle.

Didn't read the board last Sunday night or Monday? Plenty of Dallas fans here. I'm sure you could find the threads.

Dumb rule. They make rules like that to try to make the sport seem more complex than it is.

I will acknowledge that it doesn't. The Cowboys didn't make enough plays on either side of the ball. The Packers were unfortunately just a little bit better today.
agree 100%
I'm a Cowboys fan - you'll be hard pressed to find any over the top commentary by me regarding my team - not last week, not this week. I will say that it looked like a football move to me, then the ball hits the ground. I'll tip my cap to Rodgers - what a performance. The Cowboys had their chances and didn't capitalize when they should have.

he had complete control of the ball. Made a fantastic catch and then tried to extend in to the endzone You can't cradle the ball if you didn't posess it.

There was not a ref on any of the networks, CBS, Fox , ESPN or the NFL network that thought not only was the pass not complete, it wasn't a tough call to call it incomplete. As opposed to last week when they thought it was illegal conduct, followed by defensive holding, followed by pass interference.

what?
if you catch the ball at the sideline with two feet down, they give credit for the catch

if you catch in bounds, you have to get three feet down, a knee, an elbow, and you need to sit down crosslegged with the ball elevated over your head

if you only need two feet and control at the sideline, that's how it should be in the field

no one knows what "complete the play means"

If he had simply pulled it in and fallen on his back its a catch, instead of trying to make the Superman play to enhance his chances of getting the big contract extension. Skeletor Jones will still over pay him at the end of the day after he holds out.

Hate the Cowboys. Glad they lost. Hate Dez Bryant. Hate Jerry Jones and his fiancee Chris Christie. Hate rules that negate great football plays.
This sums up my feelings nicely.

It was a spectacular play, but by letter of the rule, it had to be overturned. And that makes it a very, very dumb rule.

Also, the Cowboys.

Doug Marrone does

100%. I loathe the Cowboys and temper tantrum Dez. As a NYG fan, I took great pleasure in knowing the Cowboys continue to be irrelevant in the postseason.
I'm a Giants fan and loathe the Cowboys as well. But we should be careful of throwing stones at Dez. As the year went on, it became obvious we are going to be dealing with a similar on field guy in Beckham. Guy has a lot of talent, but his on field antics were getting a little crazy at the end of the season.

If you catch the ball on the sideline, get two feet down and stay standing, it is a catch. If however you catch a ball on the sideline, get two feet down and then fall out of bounds, you need to maintain possession in order for it to be complete. If you fall out of bounds and after you hit the ground the ball comes out, it is incomplete, just like it was for Dez yesterday. FWIW, I am a Cowboys fan.
