OT - Need a new place to go when in Syracuse

Destiny has such a selection now that its hard not to find a place that everyone can agree on. Cheesecake factory just opened up plus they have that Brazilian steakhouse, Revolutions, World of Beer, Gordon Biersch etc.

Nice now and then. But you got to patronize the local, non-chain, eating and drinking establishments.

Absolutely, especially when its the spring/summer and you can utilize outdoor seating. Gonna be hard for any restaurant at Destiny outside of Panera to have outdoor seating.

Limp Lizard in Liverpool: under-rated BBQ (Dino gets all the press), great beer selection. Kind of behind The Retreat. Lizard, Retreat. and Heid's all within easy walking distance from one another. Why not all three?

Winter time: The Retreat, Kitty Hoynes, Coleman's, The Cobblestone.
Summer time: The Retreat, Blue Tusk, Borios

Limp Lizard is seriously good- I'd take their pulled pork over Dino.

Zebb's in Mattydale. Good burgers. Ale n Angus pub on Harrison as well.

You really should just go to Varsity let's be honest.

Fresno's. Used to eat there now and again in my highschool days. Good times.

if you like Reuben's go to Danzer's. One of the best you will find. It's just off Brighton Ave. Also some nice new restaurant's at Destiny

Agreed. Love Danzers.
However, if you like a place that has been cleaned in the 21st century, rethink it. What the happened to that place? We still go, but good God.

Good call.

Danzer's is like something straight out of Restaurant Impossible or one of those shows. I still go (as recently as before the Clemson game on Sunday), but I wouldn't send someone who's never been before. Dirty, kind of careless service, and the food is hit-or-miss.

I second this. My niece (current SU student) took me there after the Pitt game.

Recommended as well. Definitely has some unique menu items you aren't gonna find in too many places around here. Very close to the University also.

The eggplant fries are unbelieveable! Beer selection is small but usually have brews seldom seen elsewhere.

Fresno's has been gone for years. It's now the Basil Leaf and a great place with great food

Duskee's in Phoenix has excellent burgers and wings. Best is the Duskee Burger made with a fried egg on top - order medium with the egg soft. Only downside is they feature a Brady Burger, and a Big Ben (Roethlisberger) but nowhere on the menu is a Kemp, Ferguson, Kelly, or Flutie burger.

Try Beer Belly in Westcott. Small but good beer selection, unique menu.

Amen. Place has great beef sandwiches and burgers.

Also, basil leaf in north Syracuse is very good but the service is generally slow. New Flat Iron just opened in the old Colorado mining company spot.

In my opinion, limp lizard is junk unless you go for beer and smoked wings which are great, everything else is blah. New Brazilian place in the mall is also junk imo.

Great new place had recently opened in Brewerton can't remember the name though. Great food and service.

Is the place in Brewerton DG's? Haven't been there yet.

Just looked it up - it's called Barado's.

Just had dinner there last night. Great place. Only serve bottled beer though; nice selection of wines. A small menu, but everything on it is deelish. Easy access to 81 at the corner of Bartell Road and Rte 11. (I'm sounding like a commercial!)

I was thinking across the street from the Tusk. J Ryan's, PJ Dorsey's.

Now if someone had said the last place you heard Steely Dan, I would have known immediately.
I think Dorsey's has been replaced. Chicago Small Plates or something like that.
