OT: These NBA playoffs are INSANE so far

Paul George just flopped worse than maybe anyone ever in the history of all time.

Well it looks like Memphis blew there chance last night and Atlanta might have too. Memphis laid a huge egg, but OKC finally woke up. I guess that article in the local OKl paper got the team's attention.

Atlanta, up 5 with 3 minutes left at home in a closeout game. Typical Atlanta sports lol. Hopefully they prove me wrong tomorrow because I cannot stand the fake toughguys from Indiana.

Memphis and OKC have played basically to a draw over their last 30 games or so. I think the final game will come down to the last possession.

Evenly matched teams. Great series.

Can we talk about the Clippers going only for 3's on their last possession? I guess the idea is Curry is probably gonna be shooting the FT, and he's money, but he had already missed a few. 20 seconds left, down by 4, not sure you go for 3's only. Get an open 3, fine, but they were taking rebounds out behind the line and bombing 3's.

After winning last night, the Pacers went from 30/1 to 40/1 to win the NBA title. What am I missing here? I know they're having struggles, but they still have home court advantage in the East. My wife is very anti-gambling, but I'm trying to talk her into letting us bet $100 for the outside chance to take home 4 grand.

FWIW, the 2008 Celtics went 7 games in the first round with Atlanta, as well.

Hibbert looks the Hibbert that played at GTown and not the one that has produced the last few years for Indiana.

NBA messed up big time suspending Z-Bo. I literally cannot stand this p***y side of the league. They are ruining what should be physical , emotional basketball. So disgusted by this suspension.
Have to agree with you and also Van Gundy, didn't see any punch in there. Maybe suspend a quarter and fine him, but not to miss the whole game.

the West series have all been outstanding . . . I was favoring the Clips to get out of the West if they could get past GS, but the Sterling thing has shot an arrow through them and I don't think they'll recover. was just realizing that, if everything falls into place for them, the Spurs won't have to leave the state of Texas until the 3rd game of the Western Conference Finals!

Come on man! Routing against the dubs? What?

;)

What an ending to the Rockets game. I was rooting for six game 7's, but that was pretty cool. Maybe even exciting?
Whatta great first round of the playoffs, best ever. This is, what, the 4th buzzer-beater for Lillard this season? And, tonight, three game 7's. Too bad Zach Randolph won't be playing for Memphis against OKC.

I'm watching...but all the teams I want to win are losing. Screw OKC!

Watching OKC preening and posturing when they pulled away from Memphis really turned me off. I get it, you're moving on and our at home and excited, thats fine.. I wasn't really that annoyed at them but annoyed at the NBA for handing them the series. Congrats OKC, you beat a team without one of their best players and a severely limited pg, cool, now move on.

I watched a little of one of the W-C games. Twice I saw Blake get the ball about 15 ft from the basket. The first time he violently banged into his guy 3 times, ala Shaq's buttarama move, before he pushed the guy back far enough to get a shot. The second time he only had to bash into the defender once, before he made his move. It was NFL basketball.

The higher seeded team is leading in only one of the eight first round series (Miami swept Charlotte). Every other series is either tied 2-2 or the lower seeded team is up 3-1 or 3-2.

I agree that the NBA regular season is a total borefest compared to college, but right now is the best basketball (quality-wise) on the face of the Earth. If you love this sport, you're depraving yourself by not watching Clippers/Warriors tonight.

Some awesome matchups in round 2.

Parker vs Lillard, and two teams that love spreading the floor around their bigs. Will be interesting to see who guards Aldridge, perhaps Diaw? Duncan is more comfortable on D closer to the hoop and Aldridge is perfect pick and pop big.
Griffin vs. Ibaka, Paul vs. Westbrook, should be very high scoring. Will come down to the bench, imo.
Wall vs. George, my guess is Vogel won't start with George on Wall but eventually he'll be D'ing him up. Can't see Hibbert playing much here either with two solid bigs out there, particularly a very athletic Nene who can hit a jumper. I see this as the lowest scoring series.
Nets vs. Heat- Nets 4-0 vs. Miami this year, both teams have little inside game but have lots of veterans who have been there before. I think whoever can get into the paint easier wins.

Five Game 7's and every team I rooted for lost. Awesome.

Ha, that really sucks. I like the Spurs, so I guess I went 1-4.

I like San Antonio somewhat easily, I don't see it going 7. Clippers-OKC should by all rights be awesome, unless Paul is still banged up. Gotta take OKC there. I know the Nets went 4-0 vs Miami, but I still like Miami. And I'm going Wash in the last series; Indy has looked so unimpressive for so long.

Hopefully Round 2 works out a bit better for me. I'm rooting for OKC, Portland, Washington and a giant brawl so everyone on Brooklyn and Miami is suspended for the rest of the Playoffs (an aggressive game of pattycake would suffice since that's all it really takes to get suspended these days).

I'm excited to see Nene/Gortat against the fake toughguy crew.

Same boat as you.

I think Portland's magic runs out. Good team, but not in the same class a SA.

OKC/Clips will be great TV.

I think the Heat will crush the Nets. I see Miami taking them in five.

I think Wiz can beat the Pacers in six or seven. I know it looked like the Pacers got their act together, but if Nene plays like he cares with Beal and Wall constantly pushing, I think they'll pull it out. Pacers still seem a little fragile to me for a team that should be peaking.

Looking forward to all the match ups.
