OT: This could be fun

When I was a kid, probably around 10, my siblings and cousins went tubing down some pretty mellow rapids in the adorondacks. For a 10 year old they were pretty daunting but that's what made it thrilling. At the end of the run was a calm pool where you could get out with your tube and head back for another round. This pool was about 4 feet deep and about 40 feet beyond this the water got much more intense. Well we were in the charge of our uncle who took all of us kids (6 or 7 of us) ages 4-13. The younger kids were suppose to go down with an older kid. Well my uncle thought it would be ok for my younger. Brother (5) to go on his own. He was about 50 feet behind my older brother on the river and he and I would wait at the pool and collect him. So my older brother and I are on the shore at the pool when our little brother rounds the bend and enter the pool. He wasn't hoping off his tube in time to easily get out. Of the water. Finally about 10 from where crape gets real he jumps off. But the water he jumps off into is over his head. Real quickly he gets pulled under ando the white waters. I panicked and didn't move. Thankfully my older brother was quick to react. He grabbed his tube, jumped in and went after him. After this I started to follow them down the river along the shore line. Every now and then id see my little brothers head bob up and I swear I thought he was going to die. Eventually my brother caught up to him, grabbed him by the shirt and ripped him up on the tube. . O was able to come into the water a bit and help them get onto land. Once on land ny little brother piker up all the water that wad in his lungs and my older brother became my hero. It was very surreal and he truly almost died.

Honestly? My son's circumcision. I'm not opposed to the practice, but to watch that happen to your son, it's pretty fcked up.
Yeah, that's up there with me too. I can't flippin believe I looked!
Thank god the kid got a little wine, but it didn't fully smooth things over.

So glad it worked out. Just reading that one had me nervous all the way up until the save.
Phew!

I mentioned this somewhere else. A few really messed up ones, but this is the worst.
When I was between 9 and 12, I was at a temple. It has seven floors and one of those open stairways with a lot of room.
Waiting for someone, I was facing the outside door. I felt a rush of air behind me and shuddered after hearing a thump.

She lie facedown at the basement floor as I peered over the opening of the stairwell.
No movement, I opened outside door, "help, help!". Adults came rushing to look beyond shocked to see what I saw.

No way she made it. Not sure if she did it on purpose, but the opening had a high protective part, so no way she slipped.

Guessing 40s or 50s. Man, I've seen some crazy stuff!
9/11 oh, just happened to work a block and a half away.
Bus turning over right in front of me. Same bus I was late to catch.
Almost got splatted like frogger on Queens Blvd. cause it was too early and I was running to catch a different bus.

9/11, was coming in via same express bus I missed. Common theme.
Some would say buses.
I would say tee is a raving idiot.

Whats the craziest thing you have ever bore witness to?

On my spring break trip while abroad in Australia, a *seemingly quiet* chick in our tour group got hammered one night and went down on some other random woman who was leaning against a grill that was cooking our hamburgers who happened to be staying at the same place as us. Tops may or may not have also been off.

Hint: they were, and there is a God.

Was the girl going down under while being down under doing a good job? Cuz grilling couldn't have been easy.

I just posted a whitewater experience I had in Maine in the Thread " Basketball Board Heating up. Post # 9.

We lost my friend at his bachelor party...I guess that is the craziest thing that I didn't witness. We still had a good time though.

When I was in college I saw arguably the best fight on earth. A guy from the soccer team (5'10" 190ish and cut) spun around a kid on the hockey team (5'6" maybe 150 lbs) and sucker punch him twice in the face. Clearly broke his nose as it was gushing and nay have knocked out his front two teeth (they could have been missing prior to this event) . Well, the little guy pbbttt. (Like a little kid does when spitting) tie blood away from his mouth, very calmly smiled (without his upper front teeth) grabbed the soccer player by his shoulders and head but him 3 times. I'm 98% sure on the last head butte he was holding the guy up because he was conpletely unconscious. The dude fell. To the ground in front of his buddies as the hockey player walked away. I way maybe 10 feet away. And i was left in awe.

I wish I had some actual good stories. Best I can do off the top of my head was spring break of my senior year at SU when we went to Jamaica and saw an ugly girl (from SU) win a wet t-shirt contest. It was mindblowing.
Well, great, now every game SU plays in Jamaica from now on is a home game.

Considering the insane amount of SU students there (we watched the BET loss to UConn in a bar and there were probably 40 SU students...this was in 03), it may actually be a home game.

On the bright side, they had a sort of Beer Olympics along the beach (this was Negril) between all of the schools, and we freaking dominated. I mean, we just destroyed every other school. We're damn fine drinkers at SU.
