Paging Tristan...

I have doubts that he is even a fan of the team at all.

I think you're right. He always ducks my question on how he started following SU since he claims to be not an SU alum nor CNY local.

How can you not root for every guy on a team? Especially YOUR team? That makes no logical sense.

I wouldn't say it makes no logical sense. It's not like we're talking about our kids here, we're talking about our favorite team. If I think one player is going to do a better job of helping my team win than another, I'd support more PT for the player I think is better. Pretty logical. Rooting for a particular player over the best interests of the team just means you're a bigger fan of the player than the team. I don't think there are many people like that are on here.

Is Tristan actually Spike Lee?
I believe he's claimed to be a rich black man who jets around the world.
Next guess?

Tristy, What...need you here for fun and debate...beside you give character to the board...don't forget our bottle of wine bet!

Tristy is great.

The thing I like about Stan, is that he is more than willing to put his neck on the line to support his opinion (whether right or wrong, but he always thinks he's right). He's also not scared to ruffle feathers...actually, I think he likes to ruffle other posters' feathers. He's kind of like the Doug Gottleib of the board. He says stuff that he knows will get a rise out of people, just to make himself more relevant.

Unlike some other posters that beat certain topics to death by taking unpopular stances, I actually think Stan is a rather intelligent poster. He's rather arrogant, but that's his style.

The fact that he has an entire thread dedicated to him makes me think his style actually works.

I know where you are coming from but teams and programs like the Cuse has fans all over the place due to their long term success and the proliferation of televised games in the ESPN era. Otherwise we would not be able to recruit cross country on a consistent basis like we do.

Couldn't agree more. That's why I started this thread. This board would suck without him(not to boost his ego). He brings a controversial edge that keeps things fun. Sometimes he's brutally spot on. Other times he's out of his freaking mind.

NYU hasn't come along to save the Big East yet, unfortunately.
