in such a volatile job market as assistant coaching- why in the world would you jump from a job when you dont have another one lined up ?

I guess he wasn't a fit with the rest of the staff.

Just because the papers say he resigned, doesn't mean he wasn't forced.

So was this actually an upgrade for Perles? Did he get a significant of a bump in salary that made it worth it, or did he just not like recruiting?

I think this could be an upgrade for SU, all things being considered.

Not diminishing his work with the offensive line this past year - he did a nice job overall. But there's more to college coaching - and being a position coach in college, specifically - than just getting your position to play at a higher level. At least in my opinion there is.

I agree. I felt he did a good job, but it's not like he isn't replaceable. I think the success of the offensive line had more to do with the talent identification and development of the prior staff.

I think Perles did a real good job with the line. He had lost the left side and Foy and Robinson were green. He wasn't forced out.

Why, why, why would you be an OLINE coach up here man! He will need another job

yup obviously doesn't look like anything is done yet. It sounds like Perles was headed to Toronto and then OK St inquired and he may have interest but Ok St still searching/interviewing. Hopefully he doesn't lose out on Toronto opportunity if he ends up not getting OSU gig.
when u leave here I'm done with you.. This is the holy grail as far as I'm concerned and if your not with it I'm done with ya

I never thought he was forced out. I also thought he did a real good job, but i still think it's up in the air who was most important in the development of the offensive line. Just don't think it was a huge loss.
