The coaching staff knows Braswell's health status, Hughes production must be filled by committee.

The team will be different next year, more balanced and better on defense.

They actually don’t know Braswell’s health until he gets back playing again. It’s way too early.

Since when has JB ever done anything by committee? Seriously.

Better on defense? How? Four of five starters return and Quincy isn’t a great defender. If he plays 30 minutes, I bet he gets in serious foul trouble. Braswell remains a question and Newton doesn’t rebound.

As presently constructed, this is a very average team. I don’t know how else to say it.

It’s obvious to anyone who is just a little objective.

Watch the NC State game and second half of the Miami game without Hughes.
Now take away guards currently on the bench and replace them with an unknown.

We could have a better “team” next year and a worse record because the conference is better.

Did you see the article on Braswell? He has been cleared to play,

It's basketball JB has ran a motion offense for 40 of 44 years. ISO came into effect because motion is hard to run with no post player, normally the post player has been a forward in our system but not always.

Kadary playing at the top of the zone will make us better, we will be bigger in the zone next year, Sidibe will be better in the middle too.

I was tough on Shafer as HC thought he was a joke and in over his head.

I have been pro-Dino and stayed that way even when we have struggled. I get frustrated at individual things but support the coach and realize he is the man for the job.

I think for hoops it’s all about who we hire and what they inherit. There are always going to be the insane negative and their always going to be bias pro coach idiots patience will be there depending on the situation.
The right guy for the job just had a very disappointing recruiting season from where I sit. Very disappointing. Down the list with the ranking of our fellow ACC teams. Plus, a losing season in year 4. I find it interesting to see how Desko and JB are treated on these boards and how Dino is treated. A guy going for his PH D in psy could write his thesis on this.

But in reality how many mpg do you see him getting at the top of the zone? Hard to imagine Joe and Buddy are going to play less than 35mpg and if Buddy moves to the 3 part time then that negative for our rebounding probably outweighs whatever we would gain with Kadary up top.

That is not taking in to any consideration any players making a jump. I actually believe we have a number of guys that can make that jump. Maybe they will. Maybe they won't. We will know one way or the other in the fall. I'll wait to get negative until then.

Buddy can't play the 3. We would get murdered on the boards. Plus, he isn't a actual dynamo to cover the corner 3.

If our back line is Q-Marek-Sidibe our rebounding will be significantly better, IMO

IMO Buddy and Joe played 35+ because the guys behind them weren't very good, they have all since transferred out.

Kadary will play a lot, he might get the Dion treatment and come off the bench but finish the game.

There is no one on the roster that can do what he does.

I know, that's why I didn't understand how Kadary was going to get any mins to make any kind of difference at the top of the zone.

Funny in recruiting threads people say Boeheim is a good in game coach but can’t recruit. In game threads people say JB can’t coach but can recruit. Which is it
It isnt JB that cant recruit. Its his assistants that have not filled the void left by Hop. Hop was our recruiter, not JB. Gmac Red and Griff have not been nearly as good as Hop was.
Question, does anyone on this board think that recruiting has improved since Hop left?

He probably should. Will he? Different story, perhaps.

It's not like recruiting was going great in Hop's final years here. The explosion of 1 and dones has hurt us. Guys that would go to Syracuse and UConn and schools like that, now go to Duke and Kentucky because the 5 star that those schools get one year, leave right away rather than stay for at least 2.

Dino gets criticism but the guy has one of the toughest jobs in the P5.
Talent for basketball is a lot easier to get in the Northeast than it is football.

If we were getting the talent that Pitt was getting then Dino would have face it harder.

The basketball program has it a lot easier to recruit because of our location, the Dome and past.

You really believe that when the game is on the line, Buddy or Joe won't be on the floor? I haven't seen kadary play so I'm blind here, but I have watched JB for 44 years and have a hard time seeing those guys on the bench when it's winning or losing time

All true. But one guy has taken us to the final four twice in the last 7 years. One guy won us our national championship. I won't even get in to what Desko has done. The other guy has accomplished very little. One year. And that was in large part because of a guy the guy before him recruited. Just seems a little strange to me. B.C. just fired a guy that has been a bit more successful and has a harder job in my opinion. On admissions alone.

Our talent next season as a poker hand is a J-9 suited.

It can make a deadly hand if it develops but it’s not a hand you play to raise unless you are changing it up.

I would rather open up with a raise with that hand than call. Which depending on the raise, I will call with (also depends where I am at the table). I do like the jack 9 analogy however. Might be even jack 10 suited.

I defend Desko. It’s a non revenue sport. He runs a clean program so i defend him.

I know it was Wake, but he at least looked serviceable that game.

Maybe in 22 with the help of Dior

Yes. I think Buddy and Kadary will finish unless Joe is hot.

Joe and Buddy's games are not complimentary, because the strengths and weaknesses are too similar.

Not great defenders, not great off the bounce.

Kadary is a driver with very good vision, a long arm defender. He will play day one.

At end of game situations Kadary will play the role Hughes played this year, but from the guard position.

The 3 guard line-up will be used for situational basketball.

For example: we want our best foul shooters on the floor (but maybe Kadary comes out as our forwards are pretty good foul shooters)

Ok, so are you one of the sanctions guys? Sanctions are the only reason that we have lost 13+ games 6 years in a row when that only occurred twice in the prior 3+ decades? Sanctions are the only reason we haven't been ranked in the top 10 in any poll even for a single week since 2013? 2013!

We were top 10 most of 2014, including #1 but I get what you’re saying.
