Funny in recruiting threads people say Boeheim is a good in game coach but can’t recruit. In game threads people say JB can’t coach but can recruit. Which is it
Who says he can recruit in game threads?

Who says he can recruit in game threads?
I think he means the recruits are all great in the game thread. e.i this guy should be playing or that guy should be playing but JB doesn't know how to manage peoples minutes.

Recruiting threads we can't get any talent to come here JB isn't working hard anymore on recruiting, but he is still a great in-game coach.

We had 14 losses, at least 4 of those losses were do to being horribly out played on the front line and foul trouble.

If our freshmen were close last year they would have played over Marek at center. We need a big.

It March not August, nothing to worry about but we need another big.

We need a wing who can shoot and spread the floor a lot more than we need a big. It’s plainly obvious.

He is the exact example that I always use as well. There is no record of any coach in their 70s in any sport maintaining success. Coach K would be the only one but he hasn't won the ACC regular season or made the Final Four in his 70s either.
Jim Boeheim was 71 when Syracuse made the Final Four in 2016.

Woody is a wing who can shoot and spread the floor, Braswell is a wing who can shoot and spread the floor.

Plus we have Marek and Guerrier

We need another guard currently we only have 3 and another big Marek shouldn't be playing center.

Assuming Kadary can contribute, it is very unlikely that JB will play more than 3 guards. Even if he cuts down Buddy and JGs minutes to 30mpg each, Kadary will only get 20.

Marek was in constant foul trouble this year and QG had foul issues of his own. JB also expressed doubts that QG could play more than 25mpg or so last year (could obviously change with conditioning in the offseason).

Kadary to me seems like a much safer bet to contribute than Woody and Braswell. Not only that, but we pretty much know that JG/Buddy can/will play at least 30mpg each.

If we get a with the right skill set, he could get 30mpg. I think if we get a guard it’s purely for depth similar to HoWash

So what do you see in the future based on current trajectory. Do you see things magically getting better as JB approaches 80?
I would also have to be naive to not think this is the new normal if we have 6 consecutive years of the same thing and an honest assessment of next year would seem to indicate a 7th year is on deck.

Think things are getting better, Dior is a good sign. Think it will be harder for teams to pass out bags of cash, now that some people are going to jail. We could be pretty good next year, with a lot of staters coming back. Contrary to some opinions here, the sky is not falling.

He is a good coach. No coach is perfect in-game. The short rotations cause players to wear down over a season and give us a short margin for error that doesn’t relate to in game coaching though.

I don’t think people are saying recruiting is great in the game threads though. That is what I Interpreted it as.

Kadary is different he will play and play a lot. He is a guard, and if he plays a lot of forward we will be average. He will be elite at the top of the zone, average in the back of the zone.

We need another big so Marek doesn't have to play center. This will keep him out of foul trouble.

We need a big because JBA is still learning game, Edwards is too thin that is why he didn't play over Marek at the 5.

We need another guard even if he doesn't play much next year.

Thing is if he's transferring because he didn't play much at Butler he's not going to transfer to someplace he doesn't play much...

Also I'd much rather go hard after the kid from Illinois, but I know that will be tough competition.

I hear you, but playing those guys more would have resulted in less wins IMO

What type of guard can we expect to come here with those expectations.

Hopefully the rumored HS kid is a guard.
Also Richmond has to play as he is the only other guard we have on the roster.
It’s not an option. If he isn’t ready he has to play.

I think it was more how he was being used than minutes, that is solely based on watching HS tape where he was more on the ball and Butler where he was in more of a catch and shoot position.

Here Buddy and Joe can catch and shoot we need guys that can go off the bounce.

Gab is correct. Look at BG. People say we can’t get talent anymore yet every game thread people thought he was amazin and was just being Boeheimed

Newton will be a freshman and we’re still not sure of Braswell’s health status. Newton is a better ballhandler and has the bigger upside. But I wouldn’t expect either to come close to filling the void left by Hughes. None of our projected starting frontcourt can shoot from outside. That isn’t going to work

and he was 72 when they missed the tournament in 2017 and 75 when they were going to miss the tournament again this year with the worst record of his 40 years.
You are having problems posting falsehoods and stating opinions as facts. Please stop.

Everyone understands your position. There is no need to restate this continually.

Every kid looked great in HS. Go look at Kaleb and Carey’s highlights.

Agreed! I am very concerned that Kadary will only be here one year, we need to plan for that possibly now so we won't be caught with our pants down like when Ennis left after one year.

If K. Battle wants to PG he could use a development year on our bench.

Lol. What is a falsehood? That the win percentage was .563 and not the record low of .552 this year because we didn't end up losing an ACC tourney game? Pretty difficult to look at THIS and take things directly from it and have them be false.

The coaching staff knows Braswell's health status, Hughes production must be filled by committee.

The team will be different next year, more balanced and better on defense.

I don’t think BG got minutes because this team was so mediocre JB couldn’t risk sacrificing development minutes and still try to grind to the 17-14 record we did.
We sacrificed the long term to just prevent a bottoming out.

If we had better talent I think the bench would play more because we would blow out the nonconference teams and the bench would get minutes.

Like the Bucknell game this year.
If blow teams out the bench gets minutes.

We haven’t been more talented so we have been grinding.
BG should have played more last year. We couldn’t just give him minutes and JB trust winning games.

I never used the word great.

We need to get back to playing with size at all positions. K. Battle has the size we need, Kaleb and Carey didn't
