Not sure if it was ever confirmed but you are correct - 6 years was the initial report.

The real crux is the staff compensation. When a local guy goes to a Big 10 peer for 3x the salary, and, you look across the sideline in conference games to see 2.5 x's the # of staff, that's a problem. My understanding is that's more important than anything.

Someone had posted previously that only clemson and maybe one other had a bigger staff. Don't know if true. But also isn't the larger staffs basically team managers and the like? I thought there was a limit (9?) as to on the field coaches.

There is a limit to coaches, support staff is different though... 9 paid "coaches" is right I believe as that's technically what we have. Payment gets creative for support staff and where they're employed.

Whether or not that's an issue with every conference foe or not I don't have a good answer for you.

From what I've been told, there is a very large buyout number through 2018. AD definitely wants Dino for the long term. Big pay bump coming by December 2018, at the latest (my guess). Having the DOME is a BIG deal to Dino, but he wants/needs to see attendance increase. The Clemson game went a long way to confirm his belief in the unique home field advantage.

We operate like victims too much bc of what Marrone did. I’m not going to lose sleep of what happens w Dino bc as I’ve said 100 times he’s either in or out and SUAD will figure out his needs not his demands

Why is it “his demands”? Wildhack is no dummy. If he starts negotiating it will be because he didn’t negotiate the first contract and Babers has done enough to warrant it.

I know Dino wants to see the support from the community. He NEEDS to see people in the dome. I suggest everyone do everything they can to get to the dome the last couple of home games AND tell anyone and everyone they know. Seeing butts in seats will go a LONG way for Dino. That is a fact.

I have been dragging Mrs Crusty 600 miles (one way) from NC to the dome for the past 10 years to see one or two football games per year. She has been a great sport.

We attended the Clemson game, which was not originally planned, but fortunately we did. Much to my surprise she stormed the field after the Clemson game and got Jamar McGloster to do a selfie for her (nice kid).

Now however, she is insisting that we return to Syracuse for the last two home games in order to support Dino and the team. I think I have created a fanatic!

Totally different time then 96. We are in an arms race era. I was told before the first game the university would up his contract and budget if he could bring in a top 35 class or made a bowl.

I would think most coaches have incentive bonuses written into their contracts. But like Bees, I don't know specifically about P. It would be odd if he didn't.
