Class of 2025 PG Acaden Lewis (DC) to Nova

Villanova was in my final 2 for college so I have always followed them. Not anymore, Willard is a trash human. I got the chance to meet Mike Rice last summer. People like Willard and Rice deserve the reputations they have. Trash.

If he committed here he likely would have asked out of his commitment the minute we signed George.

Wow, and in the end he ends up at…Nova? Ugh.
He chose a college where he thinks that he doesn’t have to compete to start at the point. Some players want a clear and easy path to be a starter but don’t realize that if they aren’t up for the task, they will get replaced by the clear number 2 guy (for reference, see Wilcher, who decommitted from UNC for St. John’s and is now at Texas).

Most of these kids want to get to the NBA as soon as possible. The easiest way to do that is to start at a college.

Why would the kid not go where he can start?

The other thing to keep in mind about Villanova is they don't really have to compete with the football team for NIL funds. So I think they have a lot of pocketbook to work with so to speak

If Nova had Nait George he wouldn't have went there either. It's why he de-committed from UK when they signed Jaland Lowe. And I am sure UK is paying more than Nova. They have the highest payroll in CBB.

I understand that, but if you think you are 1 and done material, you shouldn’t be threatened by a solid college player who has minimal chances of an NBA career. If you can’t push for minutes, create a coaches dilemma to either find more minutes for you or just unseat the “solid” college player, you aren’t ready to go to the NBA. Dion is an example of showing out during his time off the bench and turned that into being a lottery pick.

If you think you are 1 and done material, then yes, having a solid college player in front of you will absolutely threaten your goal of going to the NBA in one year. It's about showcasing your talent and playing 20 minutes a game doesn't give you enough window. Dion was over 10 years ago.
