Any chance the staff doesn't accept a commitment and waits to see what JJ/Chance do?
I don’t think they risk it. Plus he’s more PG and less combo than the other two.

I think they will accept a commit but I think they wouldn't be all that upset if he held off a bit. JJ is here this weekend. But at the end of the day, if he wants to say yes, they take him.
Plus then you got WestryOut of curiosity, how might Taylor view us bringing in JJ and Copeland? Doesn't he want to play 2, as well?
Kid’s won me over. I’ve preferred Chance the whole time but it’s kids like this that brought us to our last golden age.His dad did a player introduction for Quadir...
"6'8 freshman point guard out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania... Quadir Copeland!"

Q blew kisses to the "crowd."
He is all in on the Orange.
Man I was about to post something similar about NB stealing our recruits but ran into yours 1st.tee's H0T Takes brought to you by the good people of Foot Locker:
Watch that New Balance sweatshirt, young man! Last thing we need is another intern. Too soon? Discuss!![]()
I think we’d take all 3. Defensively it’d probably be Copeland and JJ at the top, with Taylor playing the 3.Out of curiosity, how might Taylor view us bringing in JJ and Copeland? Doesn't he want to play 2, as well?

Offensively you can have JJ run the point or Copeland, either can play off the ball as well. Then you’ll obviously have Taylor in the Buddy role no matter who is running point. He’ll be coming off screens, cutting etc...That’s an athletic group that can score the rock. Then you’ll have Lands who will probably be in the back line defensively. Would be interesting how they play him offensively, maybe like a Braswell or a stretch 4 if those other three are on the court with him. I think Benny is here for those guys freshman year as well. The years 22 and 23 we could be fielding helluva basketball teams
I don't think that is a problem for Taylor. It might be a problem for JJ.Out of curiosity, how might Taylor view us bringing in JJ and Copeland? Doesn't he want to play 2, as well?

OUCH!!Us narrowing our focus to Westry, Copeland, & Starling for the PG spot is giving me serious “Kyle Lowry, AJ Price, & Josh Wright” vibes.
Let’s hope things work out better this time.
Getting them each to visit in succession is a great start.
Is it me or does he remind you of Kyle Lowry?I've been saying it for a while, nothing against other guys we are recruiting, but I just think this dude is different. Love his game and would love to see him play in the dome.
Eh there is no Josh Wright here…lolUs narrowing our focus to Westry, Copeland, & Starling for the PG spot is giving me serious “Kyle Lowry, AJ Price, & Josh Wright” vibes.

For sure but that’s where the staff recruiting comes in. These guys are pretty versatile so they could reasonably be on the floor together. Now would they all want that? Idk. The only players role that seems definitively defined once he steps on campus is Taylor, who is probably the least versatile of the 3 (but still versatile) lolSure, we'd "take all 3."
But that doesn't mean that all three would want to come together. Blue chip caliber recruits want to play -- now -- not step into a situation where they might need to sit a year and wait their turn.
I’m too young for that recruitment. Although I’m from Utica and obviously a Syracuse fan I know well who Josh Wright is and his story. But was that a legit recruiting scenario? We recruited all three and had a legit shot at 3? And chose Wright?Us narrowing our focus to Westry, Copeland, & Starling for the PG spot is giving me serious “Kyle Lowry, AJ Price, & Josh Wright” vibes.

That's a lol now. He was ranked 43rd in his class. Exactly the same as JJ and way ahead of Copeland. I could not have hated that 2004 class more coming off a national title and end up with basically nothing in the 2 Wrights.Eh there is no Josh Wright here…lol
Some of that I wouldn't worry about. JJ can play both the 1 and the 2. I expect Lands to play the 3. I expect Taylor to play the 2. one of the other three will play the point, if we are fortunate enough to land them. I think one of those three could still come if we get one of the three along with Taylor. That's my concern... and the root of the potential issue that I see beginning to materialize.
Copeland / Westry are both PGs.
JJ and Taylor are both SGs. Lands has indicated that SG is also where the staff has recruiting him to play.
Sure, there are guys in that group who might also be able to play 3 in our system, but something's got to give. I can't envision that we'd land Copeland / Westry together -- or that we'd land JJ and Taylor together, so long as Lands is in the fold.
First world problems, I 100% acknowledge that. I don't think we can go wrong if we land any of these guys. Been a long time since we've had TOO MANY guys who want to commit here, creating overlap...
