Class of 2016 PG Tyus Battle (NJ) Signed LOI

Bump.
Non Public South A bracket
Battle and St. Joe's play Friday, March 4th at 7 pm and are currently on a first round bye. This is their 2nd tournament and they won their county already, both regular season and GMC tourney.

Most likely won't find much resistance until Wednesday, March 9th - where they could potentially meet St. Augustine or Christian Brothers.

A more competitive tournament than the last one so anything can happen, but they've got a good shot to pull this one off either way.

We win. :)

Doing well, man and thanks for asking! I hope all is well with you. Francis' last podcast will give you all you need to know and a great listen imo.

For those outstanding goings on, though...for me, it would be great if
  • 2016: We land one of Taurean Thompson, Cheikna Dembele or another quality post.
  • 2016: Maybe a grad transfer or other guard?
  • 2017: Names like Quade Green, Hamidou Diallo, Lonnie Walker for guards.
  • 2017: Nick Richards, Deng Gak, Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree and other big men (Knox, Bamba, Porter offered).

Word word word.

Are we pursing Jordan Tucker?

New job going good here, difficult and trying at times. But it's rewarding. Hopping to see some more wins, love me the su lacrosse, great stuff there, posted down in the lax board but discovered some good lax stuff in syr.

Just a question for those of you "in the know" out there. I've never seen Tyus play live but have watched many highlight video's of him. I know highlight videos are just that...highlights of a player at his best but with that said it's obvious that he shows a great skill set and maturity level that may lead to a lot of success in his Freshman year here. Good looking jump shot, solid handle, and a strong body that allows him to get to the rim while staying in control. One thing I also noticed is his step back game...driving hard to the rim and then stepping back for the mid range jumper.
Overall it appears that he has a very high basketball IQ and a good motor. Any thoughts from anyone on the board that has seen him play live?

Nice! Thanks again.

Very familiar with Notre Dame as my two sons recently graduated from there. Coaches of ND and St. Joe's are brothers (Turco). ND lost a key player to disciplinary suspension (averaged 15 points a game).

Stats here
http://highschoolsports.nj.com/game/score/3589841/

Tyus with 15 points, 10 boards, 5 dimes, 3 steals and 2 blocks. I call that stat line "playoff business". Some might call it "blue steel", yet still, others have called it "magnum".

Anywho, his brother Khalif, freshman had 10 points, 2 triples. Tyree went ballistic with a triple double 15/10/10 and 2 steals and Frink (multi-dimensional big man) led all scorers with 18 points, 12 rebounds , 1 assist and 2 blocks.

Remember: sharing = caring :)

This game was against the high school that my students go on to. They don't have any D1 talent, but were a solid team. Unfortunately for them their best (and biggest 6'8") player decided to focus on baseball. A bunch of my kids came in the next day telling me how lucky I am that Battle's going to Cuse!
