Pleasant surprises

How was the real rushing D vs planned runs and not including sacks?
Really good. I only remember them having a handful of runs go for more than a few yards.

Screen play execution. We’ve messed that up every years since coach Mac.
not to nitpick here but on the devito deep drop screen the rb received the ball in front of the blockers.
they were actually retreating. tanks up front on that play we score.

You sure that wasn't Hackett #89?

Tuazama isn't listed in the box score as a participant.
But in SU's PBP:

169285

I think he's a star. Really impressive. Size and cover skills.

Frederick struggled at times, I think he was pulled for Scoop after that PI. But there was a chunk of the game that I didn't notice #3, which is a good sign when trying to judge a corner's play on TV.

Really liked how physical the dbs were at the LOS. Cordy and Trill both were like madmen being all over the field.

Armstrong stopped their heavy back a couple times dead in his tracks.

Jones is football fast.. saw him flash a lot on the field. Partially helps when you see a 13 amidst much higher numbers but still looked really fast. Between he, Trill, Cordy and Foster we have some really good options when bringing the blitz off the edge. Calvert won't be the first to get jumpy to get the ball out with these guys charging in.

Coley made a big stop on one draw or screen against the 3 man front. Looked like there would be a lot of room to run, he took the right angle, came up quickly, stopped it for no gain. Last year he tried that, the UConn QB ran for a TD.

That Trill strip was huge. The play before, their WR was manhandling 3 DBs, took them for a 10 yard ride. Needed a physical play there. Plus it saved the shutout.

There's a lot to like.

Lol Liberty fans are more disgusted by the attendance than the loss. I know that feeling

I thought they filled up the place pretty nice. Crowd remained for almost the whole game, too.

They expected a sellout and some. This was their version of our Clemson game I guess. It’s very interesting watching a program like Liberty gain local fan support, when the locals are probably all Terp, UVA and Hokie fans since birth.

They were expecting it to be sold out. They were even talking about people sitting on the berm to watch. On TV there were definitely a number of empty seats.

Adams had a great block coming from left side to right cutting off a blitzer perfectly.

Well, hope when they beat Rutgers by 30 later in the year it’s an acceptable consolation prize.

If you include cameras, nurses, doctors all helping Freeze, that should have gotten it to a sellout ;)

Lakiem did a great job of filling out that Guthrie role. Would love to see if he could get similar production next week.
