Postgame Thoughts….NC State

Jesse is so much fun to watch. I’ve stopped being surprised, though.
He has the best hands of any center we’ve ever had. Fantastic dexterity, to be able to put the ball up softly off the glass, play the angles... just to catch passes, redirect lobs, and convert without ’rhythm dribbles.’ He’s almost like The Big Fundamental.

I agree - great hands and a soft touch!

What scares me is if Jesse continues to improve, he might decide to leave. We need him for one more year!!

All those post game press conferences ringing in his head ...

Not sure I care to pay that much attention anyone‘s count/ratio.

I don’t either. I used the word the same as you.

I said it before. Outside of Duke the ACC is weak. The game against ND on the road is probably the toughest of the next 6 games. But my faith in this team is low.
Any real true Syracuse fan has to have think this team can continue to improve. Totally realize it has been a rough year so far but fans Have to believe!!!!

The good thing about a team taking 39 3’s is it minimizes the chances Jesse picks up fouls. If we aren’t going to stop teams we may as well invite that so we have him on the court offensively.
Key to the entire game is keeping Jesse from getting 5th. I applaud Frank for the 4 fouls that he picked up while giving Jesse a blow.

Good win. Any road game is tough in this league and the guys hung tough.
Jesse is a force. Cant imagine how good he will be if we can start to drive the ball next year.
Cole played his best game of the year.
Joe was solid. He played his game and works well with Jesse.
Symir and Frank both contributed and Buddy and Jimmy were solid.
The team is simply too slow and not athletic enough to play good D.
But when we shoot well we can play with most teams.
Good win. Always good to Spank Rutgers South.
Hope we get a good crowd for Ville.

It’s almost like Joe decides before the game how into it he is (or not). He came out Uber confident. Against Pitt he was invisible from the jump.

Joe gets on both good and bad streaks. He is a scorer. 50 pts a game in HS. He is used to being the lead. On his hs team he took more shots than the rest of the team combined in almost every game.
When he scores he plays better.
Hes a 2. And i think he would play better not playing as many minutes.
He played well last night

And how often will this happen?

Jimmy in his post game interview with Seth…that was beautiful! Must see TV! Rambling about how NC State is so tough at home. And, how they are more difficult to play with their key bigs out because the smaller lineup is more difficult to defend. Just LMAO!!! As that’s all you can do listening to such BS and spin.

NCST is horrible. They are 3-9 in conference, with the ACC being as weak as it has likely ever been. And, they are so tough at home, that their fans figured that they need bother to show up and cheer on the home team as the arena was about 1/10 capacity. :)
They beat Colgate.

He really can do anything he wants on offense and it's fun watching him figure that out a little more every game.
He just needs to be able to score over his right shoulder. A baby left hook will really help him.

Why so angry?

It was a nice team win. Everybody stepped up at times when they needed to. We actually scored a lot of points against pressure defense.

This just isn’t a good year for elite basketball, there is no clear line between the top teams and everyone else. I think auburn is playing the best right now, but they could easily lose another 3-4 by tournament time
Nope. Auburn is really good. They also have the best player in the nation despite all the hype the Duke and zag stooges get

Joe and Jesse have a great 2 man game going.
A huge factor in Jessie’s improvement is his sudden competence at setting screens. It’s like night and day.. those successful screens are what force switches and result in his buckets

This was the style of basketball many people were longing for in recent years as SU was winning ugly, when some were even willing to sacrifice wins for a more entertaining product.

Lots to like on defense, starting with percentage of defensive boards, Jesse staying on the floor all game. Yes, they made a million 3's, but you know what, we beat THEM up inside, not the other way around. That's like the running game in football - if you keep scoring inside, drawing fouls and wearing the other team down, that's how you really improve your chance of winning a game.
Lots to like on defense? NCST was seriously undermanned last night and we gave them 82 points and 39 threes. Nice to get a win but that was one of the worst defensive games i have ever seen. I usually talk about how the wings get too high but lately I’ve noticed that Cole and Buddy get caught way too deep in the lane (even when the ball is opposite wing). It makes no sense they are that deep and they don’t get back out. Cole and Jimmy did it about 10 times last night
