Purdue Postgame Party...

Obviously Garrett isn’t as fast as Randy Moss, but they remind me of each other in how they run. It looks like they’re jogging but their strides are so long that they're blowing by people.
I played highschool ball with a dude like that. His legs looked they were moving slowly but he had crazy long strides and just chewed up ground. He'd be 30 yards down field and you had no idea how he got there.

One thing that was really interesting (I think a couple of people call it out in the game thread) was Perry serving as the blocker in Beck’s version of the “jumbo” package. He absolutely blew up two players. Looking forward to seeing him being utilized more.

When he breaks past the line of scrimmage, he moves like a tremendous machine.

well the multiple PI calls against purdue saved several drives. don't think it was too one-sided.
penalties were 9-11 with us up 20 yds. as for the fumbles the dude did touch the ball OOB. the scrum...who knows what happened under there. we came away with it butee whateveva. the two worst calls against us IMO was the faux face mask and the low hit. overall tho we can't really complain.
It was odd on the facemask. The ref said 8 and the TV thought Wax which clearly wasn't. Horrible call unless Barron did something down field.

Anyone got a time stamp on the second overturned fumble recovery? A ref friend will be able to explain the logic behind the ruling (or lack there of).

Purdue easily could have matched the BC penalty number and it would have been fair. Most of that was on PI not called as they were committing PI throughout the entire game including numerous times clipping guys on crossing routes past where it's legal.

The WRs were getting open and good separation early on. I think Army gameplan should be to throw 80% of the time I'm worried about Allen holding up as much as Shrader.

Awful game from the wideouts but I think they can get things on track at the Dome. Probably Shraders best passing game just ridiculous that noone could make a play for him.

Yes, this was a really nice thing to see. I feel like it’s been awhile since we had a guy serving as a lead blocker literally making holes on the goal line.

It's tough because the game was on NBC. But I recorded it locally, and I think it's between 6:20 (clock running), 6:13 (the pile), and 6:05 (review) left in the 4th quarter.

If Sparrow - on the right - had grabbed it and held possession, it would have been SU ball no doubt. But it fell between his legs, at which there was no way to show who actually had possession.

I pointed it out in the game thread but when we got called for PI in the end zone, the refs placed the ball at the 2. It should have been 1st and goal halfway to the goal. Would have placed it around the 6 or 7. Shortly after, the exact same circumstance and we (appropriately) got the ball moved halfway to the goal as opposed to the two yard line.

and THIS was BS. I guess football is just a massive game of Twister or Operation.

i thought the college rule was if you're declared out of bounds you can't be the first to touch a ball until you've re-established yourself inbounds. he never got back in bounds. so is this not at least a penalty ?

well shredder isn't nearly as reckless as eric dungey was. before last weeks game he acknowledged there are time when 2 more yards aren't worth the price. i don't think eric ever figured that out and it cost him.
and with the whole MASTER OF ILLUSION fakes he ain't getting hit at all. never seen a D bite so hard twice.
Those fakes were a thing of beauty he fooled me both times! My thoughts just go to that last hit when we tried to make something happen with one second left. I liked the call, just not the somersault hit he took.

Please god no more national tv beatdowns. Yes I know the game last night was on national tv, but game day is a whole other level of attention. I’m still traumatized by Kirk laughing at us while announcing some of those “big” games in end of the coach P era. Just slide under the radar and take care of biz.
National TV beat down doesn't mean what it used to. I tried to explain to my twice year old why it's great that we were on primetime abc and he's like what is abc what are networks who cares

Everyone gets to watch whatever game they feel like now so no one notices anything bad
