Class of 2023 QB LaNorris Sellers (SC) Flipped to South Carolina

You can play young corners and get away with it. Samuel and Singleton will compete for immediate playing time. I am very interested to see what happens at linebacker. Heard, McDonald, and ZMG have all gotten playing time, can they do the job?
What's the definition of get away with it? If you want to beat elite teams, at some point too many young guys having to play will bite you.

No

I think one year of Nixon at OC shows us how limited Anae/Beck were on offense.

Maybe Anae. We were certainly limited from a personnel standpoint last year.

Beck was awesome at NM this year. I think they were top 5 in total offense and top 5 in yards play.

Still love what Nixon is doing though.

I don't know.

Through the lens of hindsight, they took a knuckleball thrower in Garret Shrader and made him an efficient / effective passer. I don't think that can be overlooked.

Don't think they were as bad as you suggest. Personnel / injuries are what derailed us, not limited offense [per se].

Didn't pay much attention to NM this year to be honest. But in the lens of "how many times did i yell at my TV for a play call that made no sense" it was a lot more limited this year.

Is Bob still with NCS for 25?

Don't be too dismissive of Nixon having an experienced, accurate, and talented QB from 11-2 Ohio State and Anae/Beck having an oft injured, poor throwing, athletic, former WR, from 6-7 Miss St.
Let's hope we're just as impressed with Nixon in 2025 as we are now. McCord has really spoiled us this year.

At the end of the day players need to make plays and not only did McCord make plays but there were a lot of bailouts from Meeks, Pena and LQA. Of course the OC looks good when that happens. BUT, Nixon still called plays that made sense. Anea/Beck were trying to run 30 yard pass plays with a line that couldn't block and a QB who couldn't throw. I think early on Nixon also called a lot of deep balls when the line was struggling so he switched to a short controlled passing game. Nixon wasn't perfect (inside screen ugh) but he was darn good.

This season was the first I can remember where I think I said, dam that was a good play call, at least a few times every single game. I'm still in awe over the OT play call/design.

There will be bumps in the road next season but it won't be Nixon's fault. I'm confident Nixon will design the O around his players skill set rather than making players fit a system they aren't suited for.

That one 4th and 1 stands out to me from early in the year where we faked the sneak and pitched it to a wide open LGA for the first

Good playcalling is good playcalling. If you're a good OC you can make any QB work.

See: Sam Darnold in Minny
Must be fun to watch your Pats this year with their outstanding play calling. Love it.

I do not think that Alex Van Pelt is an outstanding play caller, so not sure what this post is about?

Crazy that "outstanding play calling" almost beat your Bills at home though

Sarcasm much?

Bills played vanilla everything. Listen to postgame press conference. They did very little to game plan. Who won again?

Pats fans never change, it is amazing.

Sure they can. They were once a pathetic bunch of losers. Then, they had a period of extended success and became insufferable. See, people can change.

That's a poorly thought out conclusion. What does Nixon do with last year's QBs and WRs? What does Beck do with this year's?

I've clarified it if you looked at my other posts.

The play calling this year has structure. It has plays that set up other plays. It has misdirection and uses the strengths of the players within it.
