Could be. I just assume axe doesn’t have broad college football sources. He’s been in Syracuse forever and never reports on anything else. He thought he had a tip and it was likely just premature even if it is true in the end. Either way he’s going to look bad. Just the nature of it all. I’m just being snarky because I think the tv journalists tend to be sloppier than print ones. And Brent’s always been a tv guy and commentator first.

This. I don’t understand all the takes on Axe looking bad. Collins gave pretty strong validation to the story by posting on his IG. Did he change his mind? Wants to think about it some more? Kyle’s return looking more likely? Got another NIL bid to consider from another school?

That’s all fine, but none of that = Axe’s info was wrong.

Rickie reposted the commitment post from On3 before backtracking...its pretty clear he wants to commit but the staff shut it down for now. There's no other explanation. Either we're waiting for the McCord decision, or we're after bigger fish first

He started out on one of the local tv stations - it’s been a while but it was News 10 Now or something like that which later became something else. It’s been quite a while but I distinctly remember him being rude with his camera and pushing students (including me) out of the way. And yes i hold long term grudges…

I can see a point in what you’re saying but at the same time I think if Ricky was willing to commit knowing McCord might come back Fran would still take him. Only things I can think of is 1. He’ll commit on his own when he’s 100%. 2. NIL with cuse or another school is still going. 3. Fran and him had a talk and put it on pause to have another conversation about some stuff.

Not denying your memory but I know I have never seen him on tv until he did some pre game show stuff. I always remember him as the guy that took over for prime time Adam Schein. It’s been many years so it’s all blurry but if he was on tv, it was short lived

There is a big problem with that statement by Holland. Here it is. Often times, the reporters get the scoop which they are judged by and they wait and the school gives it to a national guy or the agent does. Happens all the time. I guarantee you that a lot of the scoops that Pete T gets, a local guy somewhere had and was asked to wait for an official announcement. Reporters get really ticked off by that.

Doesn’t Holland also do the stuff he’s complaining about others doing?

Brent clearly got something wrong (or too early, we’ll see). But he’s glass housing it. He’s tweeted and then deleted some stuff.

If Kyke is back they wouldn't need him. They would roll with our current guys and allocate the funds to other positions.
