And unfortunately for Collins, he'd have to be head-and-shoulders above Angelli, or they wouldn't bother looking to bring in another QB. I think this is more about an opportunity arose that could potentially improve the QB room, so you take advantage if you can.
Adding my albeit limited 2cents into this equation, I saw Angeli vs PSU in the CFP and remember thinking at the time "this kid is pretty good". He simply looked like he "belonged" and was not afraid of the moment. We don't know how Collins will respond under live fire, but if we bring in this kid, then Collins would have to be the 2nd coming of Jayden Daniels to keep the job...and that would bode very well for SU football. If we hit another Mccord-like HR w/ Angeli, SU football becomes the starting point for any good QB looking to showcase, even for a year. This is an excellent move by Fran..
