That being said, if this happens, catch me in ATL & The Dome all season in an Orange “IT WAS ALWAYS ANGELI!” shirt.

It does seem that in the Jakari highlights they show him throwing a lot of INTs. Actually they are highlights for the DBs. Are the coaches comfortable with him as a 2, with Collins already injured? Got to kick the tires here, make sure they have the necessary air.

What actually has he proven? He’s barely ever played at ND.

Fair but as a fan I can see footage of him at this level (admittedly very limited snaps). A few attempts even in the CFP against Penn State. Collins there is nothing.

I just don't see why Angeli and/or Cuse would be interested in this happening. NIL funds should go to LB, CB, and OL. Probably Kicker too.

I don’t love how things are now in college football, but I do love Syracuse football and we should always be in roster upgrade mode. We have NIL funds to spend, this is all very transactional, Ricky was paid now he has to keep his spot. If wehappen to bring in a QB that becomes new starter so be it, Ricky got paid there was no guarantee of a starting spot.

I'm with the get Angeli crowd. Saw top talent when he I saw him play for ND. Surprised he's 3rd string at ND, but then again big schools recruit top players. McCord was considered 2nd string then left and led the nation in passing then OSU won the National Championship.

In 2012, Saint Dougie & Nate Hackett changed around our entire O a month before the season started.

It seemed to work out OK.

It's like OiG is leading a board hype train (with that hat from the gif) about Angeli who has barely played in college. Not getting the hype at all for this kid.

He has tape against Penn State in the CFP leading a 2 minute drive to end the first half that was pretty solid for a QB cold off the bench he lead them down the field 6/7 for a FG that made if 10/3 at half and really sparked the comeback. That tape against is quality QB play against a very tough defensive team is high quality. Someone in the ND program doesn't like him.

Angeli started the Sun Bowl against Oregon Stafe in 2023.

This is the guy I have been hoping would hit the portal but unfortunately he waited too long.

Can’t see him choosing Syracuse when there are other schools that will promise him the starting QB job.

Angeli was really loyal to ND but they did not return that loyalty. College football is a business now all about the bottom line.

Hope he finds a good home.

First of all I trust Coach Fran Brown and his Staff to more than know what they are doing. That being said, I think this staff knows how important the quarterback position is to this offense. If there is any question whatsoever regarding Collins in the staff’s mind, reaching out is a necessity. When Collins was named the starter it was over Johnson and Williams. Angeli was not in the picture. I trust Coach Brown to make the best decision for Syracuse University Football. Go Orange!

I think it is crazy that many here think this kid is a panacea. He is not a McCord with a proven season under his belt. His vids looked mixed to me.

I do not even see how anybody could assume one way or the other that he would be better or worse than will be Rikki.

McCord was a real outlier in terms of a pocket QB having success at the Cuse. Other than him our best recent successes has been with the "warrior" dual threat QBs such as Dungey and Shrader. DiVito as a pocket QB was highly rated and a huge flop here.

I think Rikki fits the mold better in terms of our recent QB success stories as compared to Angeli.

So for my money, I would certainly not undermine Rikki for this kid, though if Angeli wanted to come with the understanding he is COMPETING for QB2 against Williams I would certainly love that.

Rikki should be QB1 at this stage of the game and it will then be up to him to hold onto the job through performance (or not).
