Others have mentioned this already, but I'm on board with scouring the FCS ranks for an experienced QB. Now that I had to get ESPN Unlimited this month, I've been watching the Mercer - Furman game. The Mercer QB is better than anyone we have besides Angeli.

Would be interested to see what Taron Dickens does after this season from Western Carolina. Hint, probably portal bound to the FBS with the numbers I will list below. In 7 games, he has 2,752 yards passing, 33 td, 2 interceptions, 75.8% completion percentage. Would have 2 more years eligibility it appears. Only 5’11”.

Crazy, Western had about 600 yards of offense and 550 yards of it was Dickens passing. 7 TDs

The Steve Angeli we saw from the 4th quarter of UConn to Clemson is a Heisman trophy contending QB. If that is the Steve Angeli we are getting back then Steve starting job is 100% safe. If we land Dickens though and his game translates, we will be very happy. I just hope they do the due diligence to ensure Dickens game translates to the P4 level and they have a successful system for him to operate if he is the QB. It's a bonus that I think it will excite the South Florida crew on the team, but bring him on because you know he is a value add in a football game because we may need him.

Competition makes everyone better but I'd be pretty surprised if Steve isn't (if he's fully healthy).

I'd imagine Angeli is still the starter, but Dickens has the talent to match Angeli's output as a healthy player.
