Looking at the latest BB rankings and was a bit disappointed to see SU hasn't budged upwards given some early wins. I realize the competition hasn't been exactly world beating here but the team has been dominant even when not bringing their best game.

Those of us who watch this team year in and out can tell there is something a bit different with this group. Far too many years SU seems to play down to their opponents but that doesn't seem to be happening early and that is a sign for cautious optimism.

That said, I decided to look at a few other rankings. Turns out SU is fairing much worse in the RPI. Unless I've missed it we aren't even top 100.

Pomeroy on the other hand has us at 8th. In fact,
he has five of the top right teams as ACC squads.

Time will tell with this group but it has been a very fun team to watch and ACC play figures to be brutal this year. Savor this year. They don't come along often.

Our lack of respect in the polls is only matched by the ball-out-of-bounds calls not going our way.

Don't forget our total lack of games on TV... still don't get how as a name program in the top hoops conference in the country we have managed to not be on the air tv (not streaming).

someday we will have someone in charge who knows how TV works and can explain how most of our preseason will not be on real TV and that is an improvement?

RPI? Why would our RPI be any good? If you want to look at rankings that are meaningless this early in the season - look at KenPom. We're ranked #8 there. So you can feel better. The ranking is bogus because of a lack of data, just like RPI, but at least you'll like the number I guess.

You would think in the New York City media market Syracuse basketball would be a money making venture!

If anything I thought we might move up a position or two. However, staying where we were is not a surprise given the competition thus far.

Don't go into that TV thing again as I am also so frustrated the games are not on my Dish Network or, if they are on one of the Regional Sports channels, I get blacked out :bang:

A really good college rankings comparison site:

You'd think Wildhack would be that guy...

Get a Roku for about $50 and download the watchespn app. I've had ZERO issues with it. The broadcast is actually in full 1080p and is indistinguishable from a television broadcast...the only downside is having to listen to Rosie Bouie as the color commentator.

I'm cool with it. I love the under estimation. We know what this team is capable of doing and it may take a few games for the nation to realize. Watching this team is like watching a Jason Bourne movie. Always underestimated until they get punched in the mouth. No matter what type of bad dude comes along you know he's secretly got the upper hand and they have no idea. :)

We got a bunch of tools keeping us down. Two guys kept us NR and a handful more in the 23-25 range

WatchESPN not available to Canadians. The streams I pick up are essentially the WatchESPN broadcast, just get it from a different source. Agree about Bouie unfortunately.

Download hola at hola.org

Excellent VPN. Then go to watchespn.com and select US as the country.

I live in the UK and am watching the Hoyas as I type this. Have seen all the SU games as well.
