Class of 2014 RB Erv Phillips (CT)

@syrfootball
Here's a takeout by @Michael_Cohen13 on Erv Philips, an electric RB who has work to do academically to get to SU: http://ow.ly/ppXyt

Why does it seem wrong to me that a reporter is sitting in a meeting with Erv and his guidance counselor viewing this kids grades?

Hopefully Erv does well on his SATs Saturday. Now I just wish all these schools would lock their doors when they see Cohen coming.

Very good story. May not like everything these guys do, but they've been killing it with recruiting stuff.

ding ding ding...so it looks like grades ARE an issue with Erv.

Anyone think Kadeem Smith is in the same boat?

I guess my beef is if there was parental permission given for Cohen to sit in on this meeting with the guidance counselor because I sure consider that to be an invasion of privacy.

"FERPA sets out three basic responsibilities of school districts regarding education records: They have to grant parents the right to view their children’s records. They also must give them the right to correct the information contained in the files if necessary. Finally, they are obligated to inform parents when they are disclosing information to a third party that might be considered harmful or an invasion of privacy."

Good luck to Erv this weekend. Missing coming up for Clemson as he will be taking his SATs.
What pisses me off regarding Phillips coming to SU is that the prevailing opinion is that he goes to the slot instead of RB. Phillips may well be a faster shiftier PTG.We see the running game which has long been my favorite offensive weapon to watch win games. We will have plenty of options for the slot I say you leave Erv at RB. I;m not 100% sold that Morris and or DMF are the successors to Jerome and PTG. They may well be but not yet established even a little bit. Morris seems to be done for the year and DMF doesn't get near enough touches to establish himself YET.

Of course they haven't established themselves even a little bit. That's because we had 2 returning running backs. There's only one ball, Cali. GM is next in line, no doubt.

Our opinions really don't matter. Wherever the coaches want him is where he will play. I'd say they know a little better.
