I played against him in HS. He was absolutely amaze-balls.I just remember him being filthy good on the field when he played! Loved lacrosse in the late 80’s and 90’s

I mean whyyyy call it your dream job? Marrone forever tainted that phrase!"This is my dream job."
Where have I heard that before?
I posted in one of the other threads but I spoke with a family member of a current player recently (quite randomly). The whole team loves Regy. They think he will be a great coach and they were hoping not to lose him. They think he’s been a big part of the programs success there. Not to mention he knows what it takes to win here too.I'm fine with this hire. He showed that he can coach good defense at Florida and learned offense from his time with Gait. Apparently, he is a very good recruiter. His first challenge is to make sure the roster stays put and perhaps adds some transfers.
I don't want to make this another "dream job" Marrone thread, but he did a good job, righted the ship and made us relevant, competitive and respected. Who can blame him for going to the ultimate in the sport, the NFL. What happened after he left was not his fault, it was Doc Hollywood for hiring the incompetent Shafer.I mean whyyyy call it your dream job? Marrone forever tainted that phrase!
Treanor's poor judgment harmed and was detrimental to the program on the recruiting front. She's lucky she got to coach last year and was not fired. Hopefully, with the portal Regy can make a quick turnaround.I posted in one of the other threads but I spoke with a family member of a current player recently (quite randomly). The Kayla rumors were very well known by every other team and in lax circles, and heavily used against us on the recruiting front. We have a young team and I hope he adds a few portal pieces with veteran leadership.
That was a dumb post.It seems the ONLY people who want to coach here are alums.
It’s not a revenue sport, what do you expect. Given the circumstances I think this was the right move. What I’ve heard from those in the know is that alums and donors will be throwing money behind himThis screams cheap
Not to say that she leaves because she probably won't, but Florida's Points leader last year was 1 Frannie Hahn, whose younger brother Bogue, just so happens to be a 5 Star Class of 25 commit on the men's side for Syracuse. Please bring a couple of your best players too
He worked with both Maggie and Caitlin under Gary Regy has also coached on the offensive side. It will be interesting to see how they approach this going forward. I think bringing in a young female coach close to the players age could be very valuable someone like an Emily Hawryschuk would be ideal no clue if she would have any interestSo my next question is who runs our offense
Does he keep the present staff?
He’s worked with Koch before and Caitlin runs the d and if I remember correctly, we still have an open spot on our coaching staff
Just wondering
How about Taylor Gait??He worked with both Maggie and Caitlin under Gary Regy has also coached on the offensive side. It will be interesting to see how they approach this going forward. She’s doing a lot of work for Gait lacrosse especially since Paul’s injuryHow about Taylor Gait??
Just wondering
His Bio says he's a native of Elbridge.Where did he go to high school? I can’t remember. If he’s from somewhere around Syracuse.
According to Wikipedia, he was born in Auburn but I know he didn’t go to AHS.
Sorry, I was kidding. I love this hire.Patience, there is much going on behind the scenes. Coach Thorpe has to meet with the current team to make sure they are all onboard with his plans. Establish his assistants. See who is still available, in the portal that could add value to the team. Look at uncommitted first years he is interested in. Meet with support nstaff.
Soon enough, we will see new add on players and assistant coaching announcements.
He is now our Women’s HC and needs all of our support!Sorry, I was kidding. I love this hire.
