My take, we couldn't do any worse than overmatched Rickie...try some other guys for extended periods. Maybe a game manager type will emerge.

This is why all the “we don’t have the talent” comments are utter nonsense. We have plenty of talent. What we don’t have is a remotely functional QB. And football in 2025 requires a good QB to have a good team. Period.

The whole sport revolves completely around the QB. If you don’t have a good QB you are utterly and totally screwed.

I just can't imagine how profoundly frustrating it is to be a wide receiver on our team right now. During the Clemson game, Angeli was just throwing dimes all over the field and our passing offense looked and felt like it did with McCord last year. As anemic as our offense has been with Collins, Rickie is averaging more passing yards per game than PSU is year to date. By a lot.

On Orange Nation Fran wouldn’t confirm Rickie is starting(reading between the lines he’s not). Confirmed he’s the not the only QB playing. Basically said Rickie had 4 games, we have 4 more, need to change it up and do whatever we can to win.

My opinion: RC was better in practice and not close to that same level in game situations. Often, practice is slower than game speed. Partially by design, partially by players holding back a little during the week to save the intensity for the game. Can this be directly measured,I have my doubts, just recalling when I played sports that was how it was.

Anyway, I wish RC well, I hope Carney kicks UNC's collective carcass to the awaiting buses without apology.
