RIP Chuck Bednarik

All Philadelphia is in mourning. My first memory of football is listening on the radio (the game was blacked out in Philly) in my Dad's workshop. Green Bay drove down to the Eagles' 9 yard line where Bednarik tackled Jim Taylor and then sat on him until the clock ran out. Eagles 17 Packers 13. Lombardi's only playoff loss. Bednarik played both ways in that game. I think the last player to do it.

Little did I know that the Eagles wouldn't win another championship in the next 55 years. I'm still waiting.
