So, are we all in agreement that in the last 24 hours, things are at least trending in a positive direction?

• RL resigned from SDSU (so, he wasn't using the trip to get a better deal)
• Scott Kaplan (a SD-area media mainstay with some ties to either the Aztec program or RL) says RL to Syracuse within two weeks
• No blanket denial from the Ensley Athletic Center

Not a ton to go on, but ... the last 24 hours have been a net positive, correct? That's how I'm seeing it.

I actually disagree with this. Most of the people on this board are pretty hardcore college football fans. Rocky Long has been around forever and has always been a highly thought of coach. I'm only 30 years old, but I learned about him back in his New Mexico HC days.

can't speak for the rest of the crew, but my daughter is a freshman at SDSU, and I sure as hell have known about Rocky long before the school started getting my money. And, I agree with Orange in VA, people know their football here, they aren't just SU football knowledgeable

Based on what TexanMark had said about the DC having been hired and what CuseLegacy said this morning about the theory of our coaches being interviewed, is it possible Rocky was the DC hire (even if not contractually because he hadn't resigned from SDSU yet) and he was in Syracuse to interview the other defensive coaches to give his input to Dino. With the coaches convention starting this weekend, the timing of Rocky's interviews of our coaches would fit with the timing of talking to other coaches at the convention IF he had identified coaches that needed to be replaced and Dino concurred.

Or if Rocky already has been identified as the DC, he may have just been seeing the other coaches here as a meet and greet.

I had a little and knew SDSU has been very good over the past few years.

But I think it's weird that you phrased it that way - so what if you hadn't heard of him, did some research, compared with the other names, and said "this is a great hire - we should"? Isn't that a good thing?
