I always see a lot of folks on here complaining about bench seats in the Dome. Just wanted to post a comparison to other stadiums with bench seating in the ACC based on images that I have seen of other stadiums.

ACC Bench seat stadiums:
Syracuse
FSU
Clemson
NC State - All bench except end zones
Boston College
Duke
North Carolina - All bench except for 1 end zone
Virginia
Virginia Tech
Georgia Tech

So, outside of Pitt and Miami which are pro stadiums...only Wake and Louisville have actual seating. Wonder if all of these teams' fan bases also complain about bench seating as much as we do.

EDIT: Also, most of them are silver bench seats too.

Went to Notre Dame 5 years back is so. Sat on wooden benches but it may have been the Protestant section!

You could add Michigan, Ohio State and Notre Dame to your bench list.

Was getting there, this was just the ACC version.

EDIT: Apparently these schools have far more comfortable benches because it never seems to keep people from going to games. At least I have never seen it referenced as a reason to stay home from games.

Oklahoma has mostly bench seating and it is crammed in just like the Dome, except with less noise.

Seat Backs in the 100s where practical. The 300s can be bench seating.

Keep the benches but renumber the seats.

You can't get 34 people across in a row anymore.

Maybe 30 years (and 20 pounds) ago. ;)

That's why I rented the seatbacks this year. No question as to where my seats are.

seat backs are a complete waste of money. Its a football game not a ing movie

Nobody has sat outside to watch an SU game since 1978.

To answer your other question. I haven't missed a home game since 1976.

Very Impressive, hopefully someday I can reach your level.

Wow Eric. I'm impressed and jealous. That's amazing

Poetic license.

I've actually missed 3 games in almost 40 years. Va Tech in 1996, Rutgers in 1998, and Maryland last year.

All due to weddings or other family functions.

I do have perfect attendance at all the Meadowlands/Met Life games, so I figure I can give myself a pass. ;)

Oh well that's different then.

How many ACC basketball arenas have bench seating?

Did you ever think we have the same 25-30k fans for both football and basketball? People are talking about attracting more football fans, not more basketball fans. You're right though, the people that go to the games, go for the games and not the seat backs.

No idea, we don't have basketball fans complaining about uncomfortable bench seating as a reason to stay home. Interesting observation uncovered, nice.

If the food sucks and the choices suck it doesn't drive people traffic. Stadiums all over the place have changed to adjust to fans that go to hang out at the stadium.
But they can "see the new stadium" and "new food choice" and go to a basketball game and see it all then. Doesn't fix the football attendance problem. In this town nobody is going to a football game to see new food options or a bigger concourse, sorry just a fact

I was in the Dome the other day and it looked like additional ribbon boards were being installed between the 100 and 200 levels. Also 4 screens have been added in each corner section of the endzones. Would think that we would not be investing more into the Dome if we were moving but who knows.
The Bills did with their stadium and they have plans to tear down that place and move it to a new location. Pennies in the big picture of things. Pure pennies

That would make Syracuse unique next to the rest of the country - don't think bigger concourse - think bars with a close field view, stuff like that.

I have seasons to the Nats - fanbase isn't nearly as passionate but they have tons of things to do inside the stadium for people to make a day of it.
