Wow. SDSU is a rock solid squad. Bunch of winners. Remember, they would’ve been a #1 seed last year, but the Tournament was cancelled. Don’t fall for the smaller conference narrative or live off the Aircraft Carrier game from 9-10 years ago, tough challenge here for any squad, including ours. In recent times, the Aztecs are easily the second-best program on the West Coast, with only Gonzaga being superior.

MWC regular season and conference champ as 6 seed. Probably should be 4 seed

WVa over seeded, but tough match.

Like everything this will be about matchups. How do they handle seeing the zone for the first time?

Quincy should do well in this game as outside of Mensah they don't have a lot of size.

Buddy should be able to get his shots but the focus on him will open things up. This will be a game that if Griffin and Guerrier show up well it would be big.

X factor will be Richmond. Is he healthy or not? He will be the type of player they have not dealt with all year. Likely worth a number of steals and open looks off penetration.

They shot 40% from 3 in conference play, best in the MWC. But they were very in efficient from 2. They won’t play many guys over 6’6” though

If JB finally comes around and plays Edwards 39 minutes at SG, benches Budrick, Kadary at PG, Joe gets huge minutes at sandwich retrieval, Bras gets 49 minutes in the first half, play man buzzer to buzzer, halftime ceremony where he formally reprimands GMac for complete failure to achieve any results, and gives a public service medal to Nate Oats. Do that, and we have a chance.

They’re a good defensive team but they’re weak defending the perimeter.

Key: Get Griff a good look within our first two possessions. Hope he makes it and stays engaged. He’s the definition of an X factor. Malachi vs UVA potential gamechanger. We need a second hot hand from three.

They were cold going into the tourney as well. They have not shot well over their last 10 games particularly from 3.

Other notes- they foul a lot and get to the line a lot. Some of that is the sloppy play in the MWC at times. It's a bit frenetic and a lot of ugly games.
