San Diego St / CBS 9:40 PM

If we play some D, we go as far as griffin being the 4th option and/or our unseen big brings us.
If Buddy is as hot as he's been we can continue to ride that train and win games, Griffin has had crap games and we've still won. We don't win when Buddy doesn't do well. Buddy is the X-Factor along with Kadary's knee and defense.

I hope we play late Friday. I move into a new houseTuesday that just took a year to build and have a brand new 65 inch tv arriving on Wednesday. This couldn’t have worked out any better.
Same... I am skiing at Gore mountain Th and Fri.

Jay said SDSU isn’t that great of a shooting team. But JB said they’re a good shooting team and so did Matt Guttieriez. Sounds like the truth might be somewhere in the middle?
Their 3 point shooters hit at a high rate, free throw rate high too- they are a good shooting team. But the zone recently has been very good at limiting threes.

Thanks for the info. Should be a good game. It all comes down to who shows up and who gets hot.
Good stuff.

Love the added hyperbole...

Coming at you from SU is a zone playing better than it has all year and unlike any zone you have played all year.

We start a thin Center who is one of the best passing big men in the country. He can handle it and brings the ball up. He will take on your big man one on one off the bounce. Think younger thinner pau gasol.

At pf we have a Bulldog in QG. He is great on the boards and finishes with contact. Can shoot the 3 think of a Paul Millsap.

At SF is Griffin who can get red hot or disappear. When he is off he is replaced by Braswell who is really long, elite defender and can hit the 3 at 6-9.

At SG is Buddy Boeheim who is on a tear scoring at all levels. Elite shooter who is very crafty using a high release. Playing the best he has since coming here.

At PG we have Joe Girard. Scrappy guard who was an elite scorer in HS. He can shoot it when he is on.

At Backup PG is our X factor and the guy you should worry about the most next to Buddy, Paul and Pau. Kadary Richmond is 6-5 and an elite defender at the top of the zone. Most teams struggle to adjust to how long he is and he gets a lot of deflections and steals. He is a true PG at 6-5 with a great handle who can take his man into the lane and setup teammates. Not a shooter but can knock down midrange. Good rebounder. Most unique player you will see all year.

Off the bench as well is 6-11 Jesse Edwards with a 7-5 wingspan. He has come on of late and is a huge obstacle inside. Slowed down the best frontcourt in the country in UNC when he came in.

Looking forward to an NBA caliber matchup ;). Good luck to y'all as well!!

Except for the last 6 games. They are coming in struggling from a shooting perspective.

Also it's tough when you are team who is on a streak like they are at 14 games. It's not a problem until it's a loss...

I figured someone said this. Not a chance I was looking through 7 pages to confirm it!
I like you, you're forgiven. If it wasn't listed as SDS with those stats I would've guessed it was Virginia and put any amount of money on it. I'm either awful with money or I know how awful it is to watch Virginia.

They are pretty solid from the line but not quite as good as us

Yeah so I’m not reading 7 pages… somebody hit me with the cliff notes on what we have ahead of us.

Offensive Key: none of those 5-10 minute patches of zero scoring that seem to happen a lot this year...and cost the UVA game, imo.

Defensive Key - no open 3s. I think the zone kinda invites the 3...and I don't think this is the team you wanna do that against (based on %) ...secondary and tertiary rotations have to gaurd the line. make them score 2s.

SDSU is a smaller team...and the teams that give this squad trouble seem to have size. Gotta think the rebounding will be good...which has been a big indicator for success this year.

Sportsbooks have to love this matchup - could see it going a lot of different ways...

i think if SU plays up to their ability...similar to the last couple games...I think they win.

The more I read/watch the less I like this matchup. This is a deep and experienced sdsu

It is for sure. It's also not a team with familiarity (either way). We were never getting an easy matchup as an 11. Look at the other 6 seeds.

It all comes down to who shows up and who gets hot.
We do not have to get hot to win games with our defense. It's as simple how good our defense is going to be. If our defense puts up an A performance and Buddy remains hot, you're going to lose. I'm not trying to sound cocky but the games we lose are when our defense breaks down, and since our best defender has been playing heavy minutes over our unathletic starting point guard we've lost two games, one of them at the buzzer when he was injured and sat out probably a couple of minutes too early.

It means that they are a good shooting team that had a bad tournament from outside - but won anyway. If Mitchell is good in the high post and they've got two really good jump shooters, that's trouble. Also, Joe vs. a 5-8 guy isn't to our advantage if the the 5-8 guy is really quick.
