Scouting Wisconsin - A couple of scary stats

A little touchy today, Moqui? I never said anything was in the bag. I dont think anything is in the bag, but there's nothing wrong with an optimistic voice in a sea of pessimism. These "oh ****" threads get old after awhile. We are our own worst critics (aside from Digger and Dougie, that is). People can throw out stats all day long, but in the end they don't mean much when the ball tips off. If we let Wisconsin play their game unimpeded, we lose. If we start strong and play like we did in the second half against KSU, it's going to be a long game for the Badger's. I don't think they have the scoring punch to keep up.

I agree and I think the Butler loss is still fresh in the minds of some people. I love seeing stats and all of that stuff but like you said it doesnt mean anything once the game starts. We are the better team and like you said if we play like we did against KState we will have little trouble advancing to Saturdays game. I would MUCH rather play a team that has issues scoring (and wisconsin has had many moments this year where they go on 5-6-7 minute scoring droughts) than a team like Vanderbilt who with their ability to score, rebound and defend was a matchup I did not want to see.

I am expecting them to throw up 30 three's and I am expecting us to be ready for that. We havent played a strong offensive game in a while and am hoping based on what we did against KState will see us play a very good offensive game.

Which is interesting on the FT thing, because as a general rule, we don't shoot a lot of FT. (261st in the country in FTA per FGA).
yep, we really took advantage of their small guards - Scoop and Brandon accounted for 14 of the 21 free throws.

I know that Jordan Taylor is an All American and a great defensive player, but whoever he is guarding will be bigger and stronger and needs to take him inside. I suspect, because he is such a great defender, that he will draw Dion whenever they are both on the court, and I don't know if he has seen anyone as big and powerful as Dion.

The great thing about that particular matchup is it is a good tuneup for a potential meeting with OSU and their great defensive guard, Aaron Craft.
