SG Kiyan Anthony (NY) COMMITTED & SIGNED TO SYRACUSE (11/15/24)

I think JJ is gone after this season. It's generally harder for a senior to get drafted unless he makes a huge leap from junior to senior year (which rarely happens). JJ is a first rounder if he has a solid year and puts up a respectable 3 point shooting percentage. At a minimum, he's a second rounder or 2 way commitment candidate.
JJ could average 20 PPG and shoot 40% for 3, and he would not be a first round pick. First round guys are athletic freaks among athletic freaks. He does not have outstanding size or athletic abililty for his position, and he does not have an outstanding skill when compared to top guys at his position. That is not a knock on the kid. He is a fine college player.

At least 3-6 or more first rounders are guys who are not from North America. That reduces the available spots.

We have one 1st round pick on the team. Some of you (not saying you, Hop) don't want to recognize it. Donnie is an athletic freak at 6'11", maybe still growing, and by every measure, continuing to improve. He could not play again this year and would be drafted in the first round next year.

Melo was on Jimmy Fallon last night and talked a little bit about Kiyan and how he is going to announce his decision next week on Melo's podcast with Kid Mero, "7PM in Brooklyn"
Fallon's ring finger is still really messed up... I thought they repaired it (he caught his hand on a counter while falling and dislocated his finger, I think).

How huge was it getting that stop on the opening possession of the second half?

Incredible, after how bad the first quarter went, that we're now winning 21 to 14.

Pour it on!

Damn you. Misposted spoiler! I’m recording this thing!

This one is all over, folks.
Again, to provide context: Joe Tipton of On3 and two Rivals publishers forecast 'Cuse for Kiyan in May. Jamie Shaw of On3 and another Rivals publisher have put in newer predictions for SU. I do think Syracuse will win out here, but not all of these forecasts in the Orange's favor are "new."

But they also haven't seen a reason to change their predictions from May. I have to keep thinking positive, otherwise it could be a long week.
