JJ could average 20 PPG and shoot 40% for 3, and he would not be a first round pick. First round guys are athletic freaks among athletic freaks. He does not have outstanding size or athletic abililty for his position, and he does not have an outstanding skill when compared to top guys at his position. That is not a knock on the kid. He is a fine college player.I think JJ is gone after this season. It's generally harder for a senior to get drafted unless he makes a huge leap from junior to senior year (which rarely happens). JJ is a first rounder if he has a solid year and puts up a respectable 3 point shooting percentage. At a minimum, he's a second rounder or 2 way commitment candidate.
At least 3-6 or more first rounders are guys who are not from North America. That reduces the available spots.
We have one 1st round pick on the team. Some of you (not saying you, Hop) don't want to recognize it. Donnie is an athletic freak at 6'11", maybe still growing, and by every measure, continuing to improve. He could not play again this year and would be drafted in the first round next year.
