Is "Baye Moussa Keita" your version of "Boom Shaka Laka"? Regardless, I love it and will promptly steal it and use it myself.
It is whilst responding to true blue. And by all means use it. Not enough baye in our lives.

After Monday's shooting performance, Jimbo may have hopped back on the "We need a shooter" wagon

One can only hope. It's been four seasons and counting now...

You forgot Southerland already???

Cooney is going to be a great shooter for us, and I'm not sure that Syracuse really needs Richardson, or that's its in his best interest to come here, but he would fit in really nicely both offensively and defensively.

Forward and center are the priority, but if they want icing on the cake they could do a lot worse.

Ha...yeah, I knew someone would mention that. I don't know, for me I guess I just have some trouble classifying a senior Southerland completely in the same category as a senior Rautins, Devo, senior Nichols, Shumpert, even GMac, in terms of the 3-point shooting. I think it just has to do with how streaky James still was as a senior and how much he disappeared in certain games if he wasn't white hot from 3. But I admit I'm more critical now than I was years ago.

Btw, what happened to your game analyses? Missed 'em the last couple of games.

Edit: just saw your St. Francis post.

Southerland shot 40% last year. You are not going to get much more consistent than that.

The four guys you mentioned are four of the best shooters ever for Syracuse and each of them played four years here (3.5 for Devo but I'lll round up). That's 16 years. Out of those 16 years (of the best shooters we've had, mind you) only two seasons did someone manage to shoot over 40%. Rautins senior year and Nichols senior year. Devo never did it, Shumpert never did it, GMac never did it.

I agree. With Lydon already in the fold to go along with Cooney and BJ, I think we'll have enough shooters that can space the floor. While I like Malachi, I prefer to get a penetrating guard that can create their own shot. Malachi is a terrific shooter but creating offense for himself is not a great strength of his from what I've seen.

Guess he is going to double dip at the Dome. Always thought he was an IU lean. Maybe an Indiana thrashing could changes his view on things.

Well my question is, are we even high on Richardson for a remaining slot? With limited scholarships at this point, gotta figure Diagne and Bryant are much higher on the want/need list. If we get some people to jump early, that makes him a priority, but currently I don't know that he is.

I think we'll have more than one slot. Call it a hunch, but fairly guestimackated.
;)

Let me offer a little more substance than my first cryptic pass at it.
One or more of Grant, McCullough, Roberson, Ennis and even DC2 will be gone. With this talent, there's just no other way.

Who could go after this year? The only guy I think has a chance is Grant. Right now the next spot has to go to Bryant. Next would be Diange (however you spell it - the center) and if another person leaves, then a guard, but I think the extra guard may have to wait until the next class - Tyus Battle.

Doesn't have to be this year. Most of these names are 2015. Grant could leave after 2014 and I wouldn't be surprised of any other names mentioned.

2014 is this season, Tee. Our 2014 recruiting class is already in the books.

I think there's a good chance that Grant stays for a 3rd year and that both he and Ennis leave after the 2014-15 season. That would give us as many as 4 open spots for the '15 class one of which has been given to Lydon.

Exactly my point. :)

Well not for nothing, but if Ennis is leaving (which I think we can expect the NBA to come calling if he keeps playing like this) the 4th ship, really should go to a backup PG for Joseph, since at that point we will have 4 2G in Cooney, Buss, BJ and Gbinije, meaning Malachi really shouldn't be a priority unless we get a 5th scholly option for that year. (Which of course is fairly likely given that CM is coming to town next season)

Absolutely was thinking that the other night too. Need a handle, if Ennis is one of those guys.
