Class of 2020 SG/SF Nate Kingz (OR) TRANSFERRING TO SYRACUSE (4/2/25)

The video of everybody besides Lampkin was underwhelming, to say the least. Nothing like the video we’re seeing from Kyle and Kingz. Physically, Kyle plays way bigger than his listed 6’9” 230, and Kingz just looks really good, statistically and in his highlights.
I missed the part with Chase Westry - I think I blinked.

When we’ve fallen so far as a program, that the fanbase accepts not filling out a roster with all scholarships used, you know you’re dead as a program. Forget NIL, there are plenty of talented basketball players that would love a free education, food, and housing to play at Syracuse.

You take about NIL here is dumb. We need to find program players still. Take fliers on guys. Having open scholarships is unnaceptable
I don't disagree with any of that, however even Boheim wouldn't use all scholarships and that was pre nil budgets. That was a waste.

Don’t worry

I have to admit I didn’t know anything about Kingz until two weeks ago. Watching his highlights I think he will be productive in the ACC. Just the fact that 32% of his shot attempts come at the rim should excite everyone. He can handle and pass the ball. Nothing special on defense but not awful. Only concern would be rebounding but a dead guy would be an improvement over Bell so I guess who cares.

hes just got that streetball style but plays with intelligence...im excited from watching his tape

honestly wonder why he didnt put up better numbers than he did...he shot at great percentages and hit a lot of tough shots...maybe his team just wasnt using him well enough...or he is a bit too passive out there?

Again, as I posted w regard to Kyle Williams (and received no reply) - do we know who else reached out to Kingz? Its very revealing in terms of our relevancy and pull to know who we beat out. If we got in on him and won his decision without anyone else involved, then that tells me the staff is throwing bags at these two dudes like nothing we've seen prior to this portal cycle.

It could also tell you that we're being very selective.

32% at the rim ecstatic. And he slashes very aggressively and makes most. About time this thread was completed positively. Welcome to SU Mr. Kingz!

Right, which could mean several things, one of which being they don't want to get in the running on highly sought after dudes with unknown decision timelines, only to be left holding their nuts in their hands, ending up with another Jaquan Carlos.

I think the only guy who the staff was surprised by was Dedan Thomas from UNLV. They thought they were in a good spot until LSU threw $EC money around. There are still a number of good point guards available.

Hopefully it translates to the ACC. Bell had all the tools to be a better rebounder than he was, made some insane chasedown blocks and dunks that left you wondering why he didn’t do that kind of stuff more often but everything went in the tank when he didn’t hit threes.
His advanced stats are impressive. Probably will translate.

This kid would have had great numbers n this year with Lampkin setting picks too of the key. Fascinating combo of beyond NBA threes and a third of his points coming at the rim.

His release is fantastic, smooth motion, though he squares up and finishes a bit weird.

Fascinating player. Doubt he’s a big NIL commitment too.
