Sidibe back soon? | Syracusefan.com

Sidibe back soon?

I think his knees are genetically flawed for the game of basketball.

The kneedy?

Wow, you're on fire in this thread. :)

Anyway, I have no idea about status, but I do hope it ends up being true. I feel like the tone of the board is that it won't happen, but I have no insight into where any of it comes from, so I'll just sit back and hope.

I'm not sure it solves all of our problems, especially if he's limited, and slow getting back, but relieving Marek of some duties down low would be VERY nice. We could really use the size.

Im not expecting much from Sid. Poor kid has been out 10x as much as he has played. By all accounts he is a good student so maybe he stays on the team to earn his masters. With Marek most likely gone the future looks to be Edwards and Frank.

I don’t expect much either, how could you. I think he should stop playing basketball for his own personal well-being. He’s had knee issues before even arriving to Syracuse. He might not be able to walk pain free in ten years yet alone play basketball. Time to move on.

Does anyone know if he have the same orthopedic surgeon that Coleman had?

I know they had different knee injuries but both had lingering career stifling problems.

He could have had both knees and hips replaced by now.
What is this "supposed to be 4 weeks" stuff? Yeah, I read that early on too. As in, absolutely best case scenario but absolutely not a given. Add in the fact he's a big guy, with past knee issues, and honestly the fact it's been a different season with covid (probably unique rehab/PT scheduling)... it was never going to be 4 weeks.

People here were giving their past experiences with a similar procedure. That's fine... but let's remember who we are talking about here, and what sport we are playing.

yeah and what made it more frustrating is how the head SU trainer came out right away and said 4 weeks, like almost guaranteeing it - odd and unfortunate

Please make sure the program is aware of your prognosis, Dr. Brian.
They need to weigh it into their decision-making process.
I mean its been 8 weeks already, you don't have to be capt obvious to figure out that something is up.

I am not the trained medical expert that you evidently are, but perhaps that something is the arthritis that was communicated by JAB on/around Jan. 14. Just spitballing here.

And if Sidibe has made strides in the two weeks since, I don't see why playing in Sunday's game has to serve as the all-in or all-out ultimatum you purport it to be.
