If the reason why we didn’t fire Red after last season was Kiyan coming here (which a few posters alluded to last year) - I wish he’d chosen USC. And honestly for his development - I wish he’d chosen virtually any other program in college.

like the kid who shows up to summer camp in a limo. all bunks ain't created equal. dad's name is on the building and we all aren't judged equally . best if he was kiyan smith . carmelo is so special to this program it really ain't fair for his son to try and meet those expectations. impossible really. but still it is possible to create his own space here at syracuse. perhaps lesser in hoops legend but rooted more in team work and academics and growing into a complete team leader in a couple years. his pops was truly a great baller here but he didn't win that trophy on his own . takes teamwork . and it doesn't always happen overnight. often takes a lot of time and hard work .and even if you don't win a NATTY. the journey can still mean a lot. make you better. stronger.

Here. The new coach needs to keep him in the fold. Not because he’s a stud but because he’s an Anthony and he’s a father is su royalty. It’ll be a bad look and definitely something for other school to use when they recruit against us. I do think he will develop
Into a very good player, he’s going to need some time.

I agree. here’s the thing us peasants forget tho.

The decisionmakers cling to the past because it made them insanely wealthy. Hell Cuse’s endowment is well over 2 billion at this point.

The last 10 years of hoops and football has been mostly abysmal yet the school has increased its cost of attendance 51.3% in that time. More $’s for less.

In their heads the money comes rolling in no matter what the sports programs are doing, good or bad. Also as a private school not like us taxpayers can throw their butts to the curb like they can at state schools in the BIG and SEC.

All we can do is wait and see.

Where do you think a bunch of our NIL money came from?

Several others on here said that’s not true before the season. Melo didn’t really give a big boost to our NIL. The money came from elsewhere.
