So do we get anyone back for Wake Forest?

Just imagine what AAM's ypc would be if the turf monster didn't get him twice a game...

No idea what you're talking about. Your saying twice a game AAM trips over his own feet? I don't think so.

I like the fact that we disagree on these things. It means that we have at least 3 good players in the backfield this year.

The bad news is that 2 of them are gone next year. We need to find another power back to replace AAM as a change of pace to Erv who IMO will be the starter next year if he puts on some good weight and maintains his speed and quickness.

Absolutely trips over his own feet on carries...
AAM is steady with a higher floor but lower ceiling; I personally want a back with a higher ceiling that can take advantage of those two or three moments in a game where they can take it to the house...

I would rather the between the tackles battering ram that defenses have to stack the box for so I can pass over them.

I would take both but we don't have that.

Looking at the stats for the year, Erv's yards are as proportionally padded as AAM's stats based on the CMU game AND the score differential in the CMU game. I think Erv will be a great player but I haven't been as impressed with him as some people on the board. Impressed meaning, he hasn't blown me away to the point that I think he should get significantly more carries at the expense of someone else.

I don't think Philips should be returning kicks. He certainly has great speed, but I think he thinks too much. Returners need to eye a seam and take it. He might be a better punt returner. Hopefully Estime returns punts again because Desir is a fair catch waiting to happen.

Well that guy happens to be PTG based on this years performances and he's getting the bulk of the carries.

Yes exactly; plus PTG, unless he gets injured, can give us everything that AAM can. So use Erv as the change of pace speed back to compliment PTG...
I like AAM too, but use him in a limited manner(i.e. goal line/short yardage)

I looked closely at one of AAM's trips and it was the QB's foot. FWIW.

PTG and AAM aren't the same kind of back.

I remember that AJ threw his arms up in disgust of his mistake to get feet tangled with his back

Actually you're right it was AJ I think that threw up his arms, but only because the play had potential for some yards... I like AAM, I just think he is too similar a runner to PTG; Erv is the only back we have that can give the opposing defense a substantially different look...
A change up pitch isn't all that effective without a fastball...

Super post-I wish I could like it several times. People forget that Hunt saved our season last year. Excited about how Long played, but disappointing to see the negativity about Hunt.
Love the passion of this board, but Hunt threw beautiful balls to West vs Md, Estime vs ND and Broyld vs Nova. He had some terrible short throws too, but to completely crap on the kid's performance this year is awful. We don't need to put Hunt down while congratulating Long.

If Long was better than Hunt in August, he would have been the starter. This staff doesn't have the luxury to play favorites- they need to play the best players.
