Who said horrible ? Boyd overthrew two wide open recievers deep in that game other then that he played well.
He did play well in that game but was flustered at the beginning with the pressure State brought. All I was saying. Nothing at all negative against Boyd. Was directed at the other Clemson guy who said he "struggled" against NCSU. Sorry...played horrible/struggled. Point same, he played well in that game.
Put a spy on Boyd. I would choose Spruill.
Phat, you made the Clemson board!

I blitz this out of them and try to keep our offense on the field. They’re a big play offense versus a grind it out offense. We can give up big plays with our aggressive blitzing style. Do you continue to do what you do and live or die with it or do you lay off, keep Boyd in the pocket and keep the ball in front of you; the ole bend but don’t break?
I remember a loud Dome forcing more than a few timeouts and false starts. Who knows how many miscommunications it has caused? No place is louder when it's rocking. If we can score early it'll help get the crowd into it.I know this is cheesy but I honestly believe if we can get it loud in there, it will help our pressure immensely. That's not a strategy but a genuine advantage we need to capitalize on.
PEOPLE ARE STARTING TO GET IT!!!We're not going to stop them - its going to be a shootout. As Otto would say you win by scoring more points. We're just gonna need a lot of points.
It can't be like NW. Too much blitzing, too much experience at the QB position.
In all seriousness though, I wish coaches approached every game with the mindset that it's going to be a shootout and they have to be creative in order to get enough points on the board. This "we knew it was going to be close" mindset is a self-fulfilling prophecy. We're not going to stop them - its going to be a shootout. As Otto would say you win by scoring more points. We're just gonna need a lot of points.
