Sure it's self-serving, but if there are kids who you talked to, who you still have room for, you at least call them and see if you can provide a win win situation for both of you. Some of these kids might be stuck, the big schools in their final list might be all booked up, but the last thing they want to do is get involved with this PSU mess.

It's not bad form, because it's a 2 way street. The HS seniors were blindsided by this, so you're helping them get out of a bad spot.
