That this investigation has become something more than Davis and Lang?

The thing that makes it seem that way to me is the involvement of USSS. Search warrants, searches, I could understand.

In light of the Sandusky "situation", this is a bunch of agencies tripping over themselves trying to look busy and covering their ass. If they find something so be it. Even a blind squirel comes across a nut. But don't read more into it than that.

...am in agreement wit AZOrange above...fact that it is being searched, warrants...perhaps a necessity to demonstrate throughness..the parties doing the searching etc raises many questions without apparent answers.
My best guess is taking minors across state lines; being blackmailed by Davis for either deeds done or for claiming deeds done. Seems interesting that the choke thing happened basically after the SOL ran out...hmmm.

This is not going to end well...seems like something new has reared its ugly head.

The US SS is not an agency that is tripping over themselves here. Or covering their a$$.

IMHO, definitely "yes".

& SS involvement could be for nothing more complicated then they needed some help on a holiday weekend. I've personally seen that happen before where other agencies recruited for manpower.

It's safe to assume that every time somebody burps there will be rampant speculation and rumor of a huge break in the case.

seems like people on here know exactly whats going on but won't say anything...no idea why

I wouldnt feel too left out in the cold. I dont think most (myself included) are doing much more than just following the news as it breaks. Lots of people have different theories/stories about what is going on, but in reality most of the posters with the best inside info about our program have been pretty quiet.

Don't feel left out. No one here knows exactly what's going on unless they are in the SPD, US Secret Service, or one of the Feds involved in the investigation.

I could be wrong, but I very much doubt any posters fall into those categories.

I think that's because right now, there is not much confirmable information. Almost everything now amounts to rumor and innuendo, and most of the better insiders try to deal with more concrete info. I don't think anyone really knows the full story.

I have no inside information, and know very little about police searches, but I do know a little about computer forensics. Since many of us are speculating, I would guess that the USSS's involvement may have something to do with helping out with computer forensics. I've been told that even the State Police BCI and FBI have relatively few people who are skilled in computer forensics. The USSS is known to have people with computer forensics skills, and may have been pulled in to help recover files or e-mails (even deleted files or e-mails) from the computer(s) that were seized. What might they be looking for? Maybe e-mails, electronic checking account or credit card records, photos, i.e., evidence of the type of relationship between BF and the accusers.

Except that no computers were seized. And even if they were, you wouldn't need the computer guy on site at the search. I'm still wondering if that person was identified correctly. I know the PS ran a headline saying there was US Secret Service, but did they talk to the guy to confirm that or just see the words on a guy's jacket? These guys investigate crimes that affect the financial systems of the USA at a national level. Bernie Fine? Really?

Well, as I said, I have no inside information, and the U.S. Attorney's office isn't saying what they seized, so none of us really knows for sure whether they grabbed any computers. The P-S article that you mentioned ("U.S. Secret Service Joins Investigation") quotes a law professor who guessed that the search warrant "likely" gave federal agents the authority to seize computers. Since agents were at the house for over 7 hours, doing what sounds like a pretty thorough search, I'd bet that the professor is probably correct. I agree with you that it seems unlikely that they are looking for evidence of any financial crimes. I hope they don't find any evidence that BF is guilty of anything.
