If only there was someone out there with success in the SEC as an OC and then subsequently turned around a moribund program making it into an offensive juggernaut. They should hire that guy.

Agreed plus Saban and Bama had just grilled them in the SEC Championship so he saw the writing on the wall.

Sure it wasn’t. That’s what the Florida admins want everyone to believe because they’re trying to get out of the buyout and now they have to hire a new coach while trying to save face about it saying it's not about wins and losses. yeah right. if he were undefeated he wouldn't be getting fired.

A coach like Babers realistically probably needs a full 5 years to get his system humming. I find it hard to believe he’d be afforded that much time at one of these schools in today’s climate.

In this instance it is not. He was essentially on the hot seat entering the season, fresh off two straight SEC East titles. He also entered October 16-3 in SEC play. He's beaten everyone except Bama.

But the wins were aesthetically grotesque. Then this month has been brutal, and he's out. The death threat thing is a canard. I mean, since when is morals a focus for the Florida Gators football program?

Let's take the bait, hook, line & sinker, of the Florida Administration in publicly shifting the focus by insinuating other issues to protect their own financial interests...

As I see it, there's really 1 of 2 possibilities.

1) JM really does have skeletons

2) we'll allow Florida to reach new lows in attempts to destroy a man's character to save a buck. A buck they previously agreed to pay btw.

I'm not so naive to come to conclusions so quickly in these matters. But a smear campaign is disgusting, should this turn out to be that.

Because the UT fanbase is delusional and obsessed with a big name. They think he'd be their Nick Saban despite the fact that he was no more than a position coach at the college level.

The ironic thing with your comments is that that's exactly what the Florida athletic department thought was going on with McElwain. He had gone on a smear campaign of the administration, AFTER they had done things for him they wouldn't and didn't do for Urban Meyers, the ol' Ball Coach and Muschamp.
 
imagine if Jimbo Pasqualoni didn't have a 40mm buy out right now? These schools are losing complete perspective at this point.

if Dino were to leave i wouldn't be surprised b/c i operate on 2 assumptions:

1. coaches can't help themselves with grass greener.
2. they want to get paid as much money as possible

I will be delightfully surprised if he decides to pass on 1 and 2 which he'll have to if he remains at Syracuse for a lengthy duration.

Money.

High profile job.

Great recruiting state.

Coaches know the day they are hired they are a day closer to getting fired. It literally is the business and can happen in most places. We've had four coaches in less than ten years And three ADs in three years. And a program that has not been in the Top 25 since 2004.

We have to stop looking at everything through Orange-color glasses when looking at the overall landscape.
