so we are rooting for Zaga today, right?

Sabonis is maybe just as dangerous from the Zags.

As an FYI, Utah is a weak 3 seed, Zaga, as an 11 seed, is a pick em.

I'm seeing Gonzaga -1 right now. Sabonis and Wiltjer are a dangerous duo in the front court.

Utah has a monster Center that looks like a horrible potential matchup for us...

Best Regards,

Captain Obvious
I have learned to never root for what you perceive the weaker team.
3 yrs in a row in the late 70s taught me that, UNCC, Western Kentucky, and Penn.

I certainly am. Mrs Moo did her MEd there. Mark Few has gotten a lot of mileage out of essentially second level talent. Anyway, it really hurt when Karnowski went down earlier this year.

Sabonis and the kentucky transfer i have no clue how to spell his name would give us fits. Havent seen much of utah

I fully support the idea of a path to the elite eight, which doesn't involve playing a single-digit seed.

Playing a 3 seed who should be a 6/7 seed does not concern me either.

Gonzaga has big tall physical guards. They completely shut down whitehead and i fear they would so the same to G and Mal. Utah has a smaller guard who i think would get bottled up. Yes Utah has a lottery pick with Poetl but i think utah would actually be the better matchup even though gonzaga is the 11 seed

Its a tossup basically.

I am rooting for Utah, Butler, and Little Rock today.

I don't think Gonzaga is a good matchup. Utah has a good team but hasn't faced our zone and I saw them gag a huge lead at UCLA before pulling it out at the end. I would rather play Utah if we are lucky enough to win tomorrow.

Leaning towards Gonzaga but it is a toss up.

Gonzaga's guards are tough defensively but offensively aren't great. It's so hard to choose -- I think after we watch the game tonight we'll get a better idea on who we want. After we beat UConn in Atlantis, Gonzaga got up 20 or so on them, and UConn almost came back and won, theystill had Karnowski too then.

This isn't the same Gonzaga team we've seen in years past -- Wiltjer and Sabonis are studs but as for the rest of them, we could compete.

With that said -- I'm so focused on tomorrow I don't wanna jinx it by looking ahead to next week

I'd rather play Utah.

Gonzaga's offense is much more inside based even with Poltl.

Utah.

I don't want any part of Kyle Wiltjier. None of it. Sabonis either.

Loveride and Bomam don't scare me. Wiltjier ing terrifies me.

Well, was rooting for MTSU. Much rather face them than Sparty.

This is the all time premature thread. I dont really care who wins this game. Either team will be a tough out for whoever wins the MTSU / SU game

It's what fans do... the key is whether the players are doing it. I hope not.

Nobody is saying tomorrow is a lock but we as fan can definitely talk about other matchups in our region.

I mean after the Dayton win we as fans had nothing to do with MTSU beating MSU.

i honestly think either team is a bad matchup. Having said that, I think the either big will have his way with us, so give me the team with the crappier guards.

Looks like Gonzaga will be playing the winner of the Syracuse / MTSU game. as they are up 15 at the half. Sabonis is a scary thought for whomever plays against him.

No doubt. He's like a bigger, stronger Lydon*, with some sick low-post footwork.

(* at least in this game, since he hit a pretty 3. But, apparently it was only like his 5th 3 of the year, so I'll admit my metaphor may be a "stretch" - bad pun intended.) :p
